Collection of Drug Rep (pharmaceutical) Pens
You can purchase these on eBay. (Or, if you have a friend who’s a doctor perhaps he/she will share a few with you.) I would definitely try to get some for Prozac or a medication that treats STD’s. This is definitely a one-of-a-kind Christmas gift for sure.
Do you have an old calendar from, say 1997 lying around? If so, wrap it up creatively and you’ve got your gag gift. If you don’t have one, ask your grandma / great aunt, they might have the perfect one for you. You might want to black out anything that might reveal the calendar used to belong to you!
A Live Fish
Purchase a nice fish or two at a pet store or Wal-Mart. (Obviously, you will have to purchase it an hour or two before.) It is wise to include a fish tank and some food as well with the gift. This might be one of the more popular gifts!
This is an easy but funny gag gift. Just buy some malted milk ball candies (such as Whoppers), put them in a ziplock baggy and attach this poem. “I was too lazy so here’s the scoop, the gift you’ve won is reindeer poop!” It is definitely a hilarious Christmas gag gift idea!
A Collection of Walmart Sacks
Do you have a bunch of Wal-Mart sacks in your pantry? Well, there’s a gag gift for ya! Just wrapped them all up in an extravagant package to fool everyone. To be nice, you might throw in a $5.00 bill in there.
Go to a local antique store and browse around. You’re likely to find something inexpensive but vintage. It could be an old postcard, coke can, or poster. Just be sure to dust it off.
An Assortment of Thrift Store Shirts
Whenever I’ve visited a thrift store (such as Goodwill), I’ve notice a whole rack of t-shirts. Many of these are old fraternity / charity fundraiser / school shirts. They are usually priced very cheap – just buy about 5-10 of them, and wrap them up in a nice box. This is a great gift because you are donating to the agency that runs the thrift store.
Decorated Plate that Serves as a Memento From the Party
This one will require a little bit of artistic skills on your part. Go to a local paint-your-own-pottery shop. (Most cities and larger towns have one, google “paint your own pottery” and your city’s name.) Paint a little plate and write “This is what I won at the Smith’s Christmas Party December 20, 2011.” Add some cute decorations on the plate as well. It will definitely be an unusual gift. Try not to make it too ugly.
Child’s Hand Mold Kit
If the party will include couples with young children, this gift might be a hit. You can buy it at Wal-Mart or craft stores such as Hobby Lobby. You can also find it online, just google “hand mold kit.”
Ear Wax Removal Drops
This is a bizarre gift but will be really funny. (And, surprisingly, its something most people need but don’t want to admit it!) It will bring some laughter for sure when the person opens it.
A broken coffee mug and Superglue
Break a cheap coffee mug in pieces. Wrap it in a nice package with a container of superglue. If you want to bring a gift where the recipient might say, “Wow, I’ve never received that one before!” this is it. (Really the gift will a package of superglue, obviously!)
