Vaseline!- this is my wonder drug for dry lips and dry face – I transfer it into a small flat tin and carry it with me everywhere to put on my lips and at night before bed I apply it to my t-zone and when I wake it’s soft and moist.
My memory foam pillow– yes every now and then I sleep at a hotel and sink into the plushness of a fluffy pillow but I know I’ll wake with a slight crick in the neck and long for my memory foam again. I take it along with me when I travel and always laugh at how hard it gets in the cold… hardly feels like a pillow at all.
My camera– I’ve upgraded over the years and now I own the great Nikon d40. You never know when you’ll be in a moment, some of the best photos I have are just from everyday days, when nothing special was going on, just me and some friends hanging out, or I happened to be next to something that was photo worthy.
My palm– I have a treo 680 palm phone/pda and it holds so much more than my phone numbers, it has dinner and snack ideas for when I’m at the grocery store, movies I must see, gifts ideas for Christmas and even my list of songs for karaoke night, and on top of that it has my day to day calendar (and some pretty funny videos and picture) it may look like a giant next to some of today’s little trendy phones but I love every inch of it, from it’s touch screen, to it’s full keyboard to it’s camera and online browser… can’t live with out it.
Jamba juice– if anyone asks what I want for Christmas or birthday they are bound to get the same answer- a Jamba card. It’s about the same price as a star bucks coffee but with so much more flavor and it’s so much better for you, I get one about two times a week (or more when I have a card) and half the staff know my name and drink- it’s like my star bucks!
A Book– this is my secret to being patient, you can sit in traffic due to a train, wait for the dmv to call your number and just about anything else when you’ve got a good book to read, I tend to find an author I like and read everything they’ve written and since I’m a nanny and have two hours a day to read during nap time I go through about a book a week.
Dryer sheets- this may seem like a weird one but think about it. The dryer sheet is for so much more then just laundry, I have a rather extensive collection, on the window seal next to my bed and they serve as anything from book marks to luggage fresheners, to insect repellents – they are really one of those duck tape type products- good for so so many things.
Perfume- the scent and brand tend to change every now and then but I find it absolutely essential to always carry one with me, smelling good is always a great add to a first impression, and a trait too many people ignore.
Bobbie pins- I have stubborn hair that never and I mean NEVER stays where it’s supposed to, I suppose I could blame the lady to added a billion layers to my last trim but none the less it is MY problem now… nothing a few Bobbie pins can’t fix.
The Bible– no honestly the bible itself doesn’t go everywhere with me but I do have over 200 verses memorized (psalms 119:11) so it really does go with me everywhere- it’s the underlying secrets, the owners manual to life, a pretty awesome book.
And that folks is my list of the 10 things I can’t live without, in no particular order!
