Welcome to the 2009 Oscar’s Deli Awards where the 2009 Golden Globes left-overs can be placed on a plate of upcoming 81st Academy Awards Oscar predictions. Oscar’s Deli reflects the cheese and ham sandwich of good and bad picks passed on from the Golden Globes winners with a dash of tabasco & peppered spice.
The 2009 Golden Globes winners surround the movies Slumdog Millionaire, The Wrestler, The Reader, The Dark Knight, Wall-E, as the list continues. And Oscar’s Deli Awards of the upcoming 2009 Oscar nominees are:
Best Slap of Cheese Award: Mickey Rourke from The Wrestler up for a 2009 Oscar for Best Actor. Mickey Rourke holds the impulsive brain in one hand, as his thoughts are held in another when he “thanks his dogs” after winning a 2009 Golden Globe. Those outside of America could only guess that Mickey is an animal lover or perhaps friends with Randy from American Idol. Rourke slipped himself a vocal mickey when sharing with the world how he couldn’t believe that anyone gave him a chance. What Mickey forgotten about was the fact that Barack Obama shared that he did drugs in his youth, and still was elected the 44th US President. America would accept Mickey’s flaws and all the cheese his words offer, as Mickey wins the Best Slap of Cheese Award from Oscar’s Deli.
Best Slap of Ham Award: Kate Winslet from The Reader. During the 2009 Golden Globes awards, Kate did not hold back her emotions for the two men in her life. For the entire world to experience, Kate thanks her husband briefly between offering thoughtful words towards Leo DiCaprio sealed with an I love you. Most were sitting on the edge of their frigid seats waiting to hear “I love you Jack” from the movie Titanic where Kate and Leo were a match. As Kate spoke backstage at the 2009 Golden Globes she asked if two awards had ever been given to one person for the same listing during the past Golden Globes Awards. Kate reminds us of what she has first accomplished by winning multiple awards, as Kate wins the Oscar’s Deli Best Slap of Ham Award. Kate’s up for a 2009 Oscar for she confirmed a 2009 Oscar nominee. Can she do it again for the 2009 Academy Awards?
Best Slice of Bread Award: Slumdog Millionaire. Slumdog Millionaire only took a million to make, unlike the other movies released in 2008. As during the recent 2009 Golden Globes, Slumdog racked up multiple awards surprisingly passing Ron Howard’s latest works. For the 2009 Oscars nominees list, this movie shows up again, as Slumdog Millionaire is about to become Slumdog Trillionaire landing them in Oscar’s Deli Best Slice of Bread Award.
Best Vinegar Award: The best vinegar goes to the 2009 Golden Globes winner we see again on the 2009 Oscar nominees list that reeks of rewind. Wall-E is a great children’s movie, however to make it in many selections stinks for those who put much more effort into their story-line. Wall-E goes up against others in the Best Original Score, including Milk, Defiance, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Slumdog Millionaire. Let’s invest in a new taste, as Wall-E is awarded Oscar’s Deli 2009 Best Vinegar Award.
Best New Tomato: Defiance makes it into the 2009 Oscar nominations for Best Original Score. We can’t wait to score a ticket for the Defiance at the local theater since most reviews reflect an excellent film that ranks higher than the latest Tom Cruise flick Valkyrie.
Best Dash of Tabasco & Peppered Spice: The bread winners, Slumdog Millionaire, are in two slots for Best Original Song as 2009 Oscar nominees. They wage their mini-war against Wall-E (winner of the Best Vinegar Award in Oscar’s Deli). Wall-E holds little chance as two hot songs have entered to move Wall-E aside. Slumdog’s Jai Ho and O’ Saya marks the double threat against Wall-E. This lands Slumdog Millionaire a double winner in Oscar’s Deli Awards adding the second award of Best Dash of Tabasco & Peppered Spice to their accomplishments.
Best Hold The Onions Award: 2009 Golden Globes awarded Heath Ledger, including an honor in his memory with the shortest clip and a couple words from another. The onions in the stands didn’t know whether to tear it out or toss it at the 2009 Golden Globes for lacking tribute of Heath Ledger along with other actors that have passed away during 2008, including comedian and actor Bernie Mac. Heath is now up for the 2009 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, as a confirmed nominee. If the 2009 Oscars picks up the tribute where the 2009 Golden Globes had left off, hold the onions, it’s going to be splashing. This lands Heath Ledger in Oscar’s Deli Best Hold The Onions Award.
With these 2009 Oscar’s Deli Award winners the 2009 Oscar predictions can easily be prepared. So put away that crystal ball, and the tarot cards for Oscar’s Deli is serving it up just for you. Watch out for Oscar’s Deli recalls, coming soon.
