As the New Year rolls near, if you are like me, then you are already thinking of what New Year’s resolution you want to make. Of course, once you make that little promise, we then have the harder job of following through. In this case, following through means actually keeping that little promise we made to ourselves; and that is so much harder.
Over the years, I have made many New Year’s resolutions. After a couple years of never really keeping them, I decided maybe making a promise to myself at the beginning of the year wasn’t such a good idea. A better way, I thought, was just to start something in the middle of the year, per say. Of course, I found if I didn’t follow through at the beginning of the year, I wasn’t about to in the middle of the year.
Now, I am much older and wiser; I hope. I have learned that a New Year’s Resolution is about a way of life. Me wanting to make myself better; and don’t we all want to make ourselves better. To be able to look back at our life and see how we grew; and how much better we are now than back in yester years?
If you are asking, “What is the key to keeping that resolution?” Here are my quick little tips for myself to keeping that resolution. But it goes beyond keeping the resolution, it involves more of a way of life, and a mindset that only the person making the resolution can take.
