As we end this year, and prepare to usher in a new one, many of us in a traditional sense, will reflect on the past year and the things that we want to improve upon or add to our lives. We will make New Year’s resolutions, lists of things to do, personal promises to ourselves that we may or may not honor.
We are moving into an era of quantum change which is sweeping our nation and saturating the consciousness of our society; rapidly altering the way we work, how we live, and what we think and believe. While it is urgent that we decide to move forward with purpose, that we embrace and cultivate change, it is quintessential that we adopt a new resolution for life.
Begin right now, by celebrating life, celebrating who you are and your unique contribution to humanity. Celebrate who you are choosing to be and the wondrous possibilities of who you can and must become. Believe with faith and a new conviction in the power of the human spirit. We get so caught up in the doing that we lose sight of simply BEING. We forget that every “breath is a gift of grace.” Take a moment to stand in awe of the miracles of life and admire the Creator of all living things. Cherish this moment and embrace the essence and magnificence of life. What do life and the act of living it truly mean to you? Think about that for a while. Let it really settle into your consciousness.
The quality of our personal lives and our work lives, how we interact with others and how we perceive ourselves, hinges greatly on how effective we are in our freedom to choose, and our commitment to those choices. The degree to which we are committed to living our lives with passion and integrity, to effecting positive change is inherent to the quality of our life resolutions.
Allow yourself to be open to change. Change is the catalyst for growth and all great changes are preceded by chaos. Be open. Our nation is in the midst of great chaos, on the brink of the greatest change we will see in our lifetime. You have the power to move through the chaos and allow yourself the pleasure of seeing a brighter light. It is so easy to remain in the shadows, to go unnoticed and unheard. Allowing the bright light of change to illuminate our lives is a far greater challenge, but brings with it a far greater reward.
Challenge yourself with new resolve to participate in effecting the changes that will impact your life and your work. Challenge yourself to learn new things and to expand your perception. Open your mind to new ideas; make a passionate commitment, a contract with yourself to work at achieving a higher level of BEING, one day, one change at a time. Pursue it with passion. Passion is the fuel, the enthusiasm for life that energizes us. Learn to see from another’s point of view, another frame of reference. If one thing is not working try something else, but don’t stop because change, whether positive or negative, will occur whether we embrace it or not.
Change is the only constant. Commit yourself to remembering that the power to change the future and the power to change yourself lies within you. The decision has always been yours to make. May this new era bring clarity to your life and your reason for BEING and in every resolution may there be peace, love, and much joy.
