Acai Berry Sugar Scrub
2/3 c sugar
10-12 acai berries
1 T olive oil
In a plastic bowl, add acai berries to sugar. Use a fork to mix in acai berries. Add olive oil. Massage the acai berry scrub into dry skin. Leave on for 5 minutes and rinse.
Acai Berry Lip Gloss
1T sweet almond oil
10-15 acai berries
Melt beeswax until it is soft in a clean glass jar placed in hot water. Add almond oil and mix thoroughly with a small wooden spatula. Then add the amount of blueberry juice that will produce the color and flavor desired.
Acai Berry & Oatmeal Facial Mask
1 c acai berries
1 c oatmeal
2 T honey
5-6 almonds, whole
Puree all ingredients in a blender until finely blended. Spread mixture over your face. All to sit and dry 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Splash skin with cool water or toner. This mask may be stored in your refrigerator for up to one week, tightly covered.
Acai Berry Toner
3 T steamed, crushed acai berries
1/2 c sour cream or plain yogurt
Puree ingredients in blender at low speed until well mixed and fluffy. Apply to face and neck. Let penetrate for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with tepid water. If you find the mask is too runny after blending, you should refrigerate for one hour or until it reaches the consistency you desire. NOTE: Make this mask the day you plan to use it and do not store.
Acai Lip Balm
10 acai berries
1 T sweet almond oil
1 t honey
1 capsule Vitamin E oil
Combine acai berries, almond oil, and honey in microwave safe bowl. Pierce Vitamin E capsule and add to other ingredients. Microwave until the mixture just begins to boil. Stir well and gently crush the acai berries. Cool mixture for five minutes and then strain through a fine sieve to remove all the fruit pieces. Stir again and set aside to cool completely. When cooled transfer to a small air-tight plastic container or tin.
