The last time my hairdresser cut my hair, she was so proud of a new to her product she was selling. The manufacturer is Alto Bella, one which I had never heard of before.
There was a complete line of products on her shelf, including shampoo, conditioner, foams, hairspray, and volumizing gels that she touted as being “natural”. Well, I have been trying to find natural and botanically based personal care products for the past 10 years, but I have not yet found a hair gel that didn’t contain alcohols and plastics, until I was introduced to Alto Bella Volumizing Spray Gel.
This product comes in a white plastic bottle, with a pump spray top, and looks like pump style hair sprays. The bottle contains 8 ounces, and the ingredients are 100% pure plant extracts! The company says they are derived from vegetables and other natural sources. It contains root extracts and Pro Vitamin B5.
Alto Bella Volumizing Spray Gel is one product in the companies Botanical Solutions line.
Alto Bella makes some amazing claims, but they have studies to back them up. They say that the gel has proteins that are heat-activated so you get better results and protection when using hot irons and flat irons.
The spray gel contains Rhatany Root Extract, which just happens to give you natural protection from the suns harmful UV rays. This means your hair color won’t fade as quickly in the sun, (and I assume it would be good for those with chemically colored hair).
Last, Alto Bella says the spray gel will give you maximum volume and add shine to your locks.
I was very skeptical about this hair product, and had to read the ingredient label for myself to be sure my hair dresser was giving me the full scoop. She actually sprayed some of the gel on the back of my hand and rubbed it in, and it didn’t seem sticky, and dried clear. You would never have known that she put this on my hand.
Thick hair is not something I was blessed with, and my hair is fine and on the thin side. It’s silky and straight as a stick, and doesn’t hold a curl well. Using this Alto Bella Volumizing Spray Gel is a treat! Although it’s a gel, it still sprays out of the bottle with ease, and as long as I remember to cap the bottle after use, the spray holes don’t get clogged up.
There isn’t too much of a smell to this, and if I had to describe it, I’d say it smells earthy. By the time I get done with my styling and adding hair spray for a hold, I don’t smell it at all.
In my 53 years, I have tried a lot of different volumizing gels, and some work better than others. The ones that have the chemicals in them always seem to work better for me, unfortunately, so I am thrilled to have another alternative such as this Alto Bella Volumizing Gel Spray!
It helps my hair hold a curl longer, and it does add some volume to my hair (just the fact that it holds my curls longer makes my hair look fuller). My hair has always been quite shiny, so I can’t really say this has added any more shine for me, but it isn’t dulling and doesn’t seem to build up in my hair.
If you are looking for a completely natural hair volumizer, I highly recommend you check out the Alto Bella line, and consider their Volumizing Spray Gel. It retails for $13.50.
