Buying a car can be a daunting process as there are so much factors to take into account: make, model, age, price and fuel efficiency. All these can be intimidating if proper research on the vehicle is not done. One wants to ensure they are getting the right value with full coverage warranty and the ability to have your vehicle serviced. However, with the economy in crisis, it is crucial that things are attainable and warranties and service contracts are honored. One also wants to ensure that the car is of the best quality. There are several makes of cars available with quality guaranteed and excellent price point so, let’s look at American cars versus Japanese cars and the pros and cons of them.
The two makes I will be talking about is American made and Japanese made cars. They are both excellent car builders and provide good fuel efficiency vehicles that are cost efficient. However, there are small details and facts that can influence buyers to chose one make over the other.
Many people will chose American cars base on capital advantage, this is where true support of the countries’ products comes in. The three big automakers in the US are Ford, GM and Chrysler . They produce vehicles in every model, size ranging from small cars to large trucks. In this tough economy every one is feeling the pinch and they are holding on to every dime and are ensuring they receive every dollar’s worth. Most times they just want to buy a car and not worry about all the hype that goes with it.
With the automakers facing bankruptcy it would be wise to weigh the decision of choosing an American made car. Secondly, some American made cars are not built with the finesse of the Japanese vehicles. The engine tends to be large and can be quite loud, their vehicles are less reliable and safety consideration is even less. So, with this, they are known to be inferior to imported cars. In order for domestic cars to competed with that of the imported, the quality and assurance of the vehicle would have to be improved.
Japanese cars are known for their sleek look and speed capabilities, they are a popular choice amongst Americans. Their prices are usually compatibility with that of American cars of the same quality. The reason these cars are popular is due to the fact that they are presumed superior in quality and style. When in fact the Japanese manufactures which includes Honda, Toyota and Nissan have marketed the cars as just that whether or not it’s the fact. In this case, presumption may have led to higher sales in the past. However, with the change in the economy those presumption have been put to rest.
Japanese cars have the incentive of having an accelerated performance system that gives their cars more power under the hood and therefore increases the speed. They tend to have a longer life span and repairing them is on parr with the American made cars.
All over the world automakers are expected to cut production to compensate for the global economic crisis. It’s impossible to say which brand, whether import or domestic is a better choice as they are both struggling to keep sales up. The choice is for to the individual because their taste, budget and needs will lead to the decision which is suitable for them.
