Did Ann Coulter schedule a lobotomy that left only parts of her frontal and temporal lobes (parts of the brain that control speech and language) functioning? Perhaps she’s simply suffering post traumatic shock disorder from having her jaw wired shut. One thing is certain: Her jaw is wired shut no longer.
Reading one of Ann Coulter’s books is literary hell for anyone with an IQ. But, still, her being cancelled from the line-up of guest on the “Today Show” on NBC must have completely unhinged her. She appeared on Fox’s “Hannity & Colmes” and, along with the epitome of neoconservative perfection, Sean Hannity, continued to unravel.
Ann Coulter claims she was “set up” by NBC and the “Today Show,” that the “Today Show” never really intended to have her on. She says she was never listed in any previews. Her hyper-inflated sense of self-worth notwithstanding, Coulter (and Hannity) went on to say that NBC didn’t want her on the show because she was too critical of President-Elect Obama.
Coulter was scheduled for the fourth hour of the “Today Show” but was preempted by breaking news and updates on the current fighting going on between Israel and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. When Alan Colmes attempted to interject that perhaps she was simply rescheduled (which she will be and Coulter knows it; she was simply driving home one of her favorite left-wing conspiracy jabs), “isn’t there a war going on in the Mideast?,” Ann Coulter told him that you don’t cover the Gaza situation for four hours.
Coulter scoffed at the “Today Show” and its other guests, which she called “a bunch of no-name guests.” Like Perez Hilton. Apparently Coulter is of the presumption that her acidic political views have far more audience appeal than Hilton dishing on the latest celebrity gossip.
As with most of her assumptions, presumptions, and attacks, she could not be more wrong.
Coulter preaches to the choir of the extremist neoconservative right, an exclusive and exclusivist clique. Perez Hilton gossips with the entire congregation – neocons, liberals, moderates, independents, whatever. But that is another story…
Alan Colmes suggested they talk about her upcoming book, Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America, and brought up the passage in the book where Coulter compared single mothers to “a farm team for future criminals and outcasts.”
The conversation that followed was simply unbelievable – unbelievable that an educated, adult individual of Ann Coulter’s accomplishments (she’s a successful lawyer) could actually entertain such bitter, blaming, partisan, exclusivist, elitist, perjorative and ridiculous theories about what is wrong with American society. After attacking single mothers, Coulter went on to posit that the rise in illegitimacy since 1970 (claims from her book) was a vast liberal conspiracy because liberals hate marriage.
Colmes offered to take off his ring, sarcasm apparent.
The topic turned to Ann Coulter’s derogation of Alicia Keys, Halle Berry, and Barrack Obama, that they used their single mother-influenced childhood to play society’s victim and get ahead.
Ann Coulter’s ability to be dazzled by her own voice puts the listener at an advantage. It is apparent that she does not see the contradiction in her examples of those who have used victimhood to get ahead and those who used victimhood to become strippers, murderers, and rapists.
Coulter goes on to say that Hollywood promotes single motherhood, even glorifies it. She maintains that society has elevated the single mother and that marriage is the answer to most of America’s problems. She told Alan Colmes, “…if you take out the factor of illegitimacy, the difference in black and crime rates disappears.”
Ann Coulter is oblivious to how much sounds like a racist explaining why there are more blacks in jail, why there are so many black families with absentee fathers, why the fortunate and successful black individual owes it all to promoting their own victimization.
Everything, according to Ann Coulter, that is wrong with American (and, by extension, the world) can be traced to a liberal or a liberal agenda.
She said that Scott McClellan, president George W. Bush’s former press secretary who not only wrote a tell-all book about the secrecy and misleading policies of the White House but also endorsed Barack Obama for president, was “retarded” and told Colmes that it was “accurate.” When Colmes brought up a portion of her book devoted to the Obama “lipstick on a pig” controversy, where Coulter revisits the issue and says that Obama lied when he claimed he was not talking about Palin, Alan Colmes became exasperated, started talking about context, attempted to use reason.
Ann Coulter was having none of that, much like any other neoconservative pit-bull, lipstick-wearing or otherwise. She insisted that she knew what Obama meant and he was calling Sarah Palin a “pig.”
The interview shifted back to sycophantic Sean Hannity, who had grown irritated at Colmes’ line of questioning, and settled again on the single mother issue. He said her book made a “pretty profound point,” then segued off into a “land of the free, home of the brave” jingoism, before talking about choices (and no one is quite certain what the “profound point” actually was – or even if there was one). He and Coulter discussed the $112 billion that is estimated spent per year by the federal government on families headed by single mothers, citing a Georgia State University study that Coulter claims bolsters her ideas.
And then: “They hate the nuclear family.” Of course, “they” being the conspiratorial left-wing godless liberals.
They, they, they. Hate, hate, hate. An endless litany of blame, counter-intuitive projecting, and ridiculous ranting.
And she wonders why the “Today Show” chose her segment to cancel and reschedule…
Sean Hannity ended the show by telling Ann Coulter that her new book, Guilty, was the best one she’d written so far. As the segment ended, there was only one explanation that could have accounted for Fox’s farcical pseudo-intellectualism: Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter shared the same lobotomist…
