Are you too old to go back to school. Are you still breathing? If you are, then the answer is no.: You are not too old to go back to school. Learning is for all ages. Learning keeps your brain healthy and functioning at peak performance. Learning makes you feel excited about life, and better about yourself. Learning makes you better at what you do, and fills the void, for what you do not do.
Why else is learning good? Learning keeps you abreast of the latest research, the latest technologies, and the latest theories. When you are caught up with the latest of anything, you fit in with all ages. You feel like you know what is going on, and you are happy to live in the present, not the past. You can carry on a conversation with anyone, and you fit in anywhere.
Learning keeps you young. Sure, it is tempting to stay with what you already know. Maybe you are even an expert at something. However, learning opens you up your not knowingness. You are new at something,, and you must keep learning. Concentrate on what you will learn, what you will accomplish, and what you will be good at. You can do it.
Learning brings you into contact with other learning minds. How exciting is that? Other learning minds want to know about you, and what you know. Here is your chance to share your ideas, and get positive feedback. Here is your chance get to know others. Most learners do not care about age; they care about your ability to take on challenges, and to think with an open mind. Nowadays, the most exciting schools, are attracting people of all ages, because all ages have a lot to teach other.
Learning creates neurological pathways to the brain. An active brain keeps growing. An inactive brain withers. Like anything that does not get used, atrophy sets in, and performance stalls.. Many great people, have accomplished their greatest works, at the later stages of their lives. Your peak time of life is any time you decide it is. Believe in yourself. If you want to be a college graduate at ninety- nine years of age, there is no one stopping you, but yourself. You have a lot of life experience and wisdom, to offer other learners. Give of yourself!
Last but not least, your learning influences others around you. If you go back to college, when you are in your forties, fifties, sixties, or seventies, the other people in your family ,will take note of your daring accomplishment. You will be a positive influence.. So, keep learning. If you do not want to take on a college curriculum, take a community class. If you are seriously immobile, take a course online. There is nothing you cannot do. Learning is always waiting for you, and no one is holding you back, but yourself. Get going, and keep learning!
