Another product I couldn’t pass up on was, Aussie Cleanse and Mend Shampoo. C.V.S. had it reduced from $4.69 down to $2.99. Then at the cash register, after paying for it, I received ‘free bucks’ for the full amount, against a future purchase. Therefore, I got another product for free.
I love the bottle of Aussie Cleanse and Mend Shampoo. It is a bright purple plastic bottle. The bottom half of the bottle is a regular shape, but then the top half has a twist. It is hard to explain, but it’s really novel. The bottle could be slippery, when using the shampoo in the shower, but if your hand does go up the bottle, with this twisted area, it kind of fits your hand, and is secure. The top/cap of the bottom is also on the same angle. It has a flip top, which is a little on the flimsy side.
The bottle has a picture of a kangaroo on it, and then ‘Aussie’ and ‘shampoo’ in white lettering, ‘cleanse & mend’ in bright orange lettering. Below this it has a ‘no worries guarantee’. Then something I found to be very cute:
‘Sometimes your roots are greasy, your ends are frazzled, and your car won’t start. This helps two of those problems’.
This is a nice size bottle and the net weight is 13.5 fluid ounce (400 ml).
Upon opening the shampoo, and putting on my finger tips, the first thing I noticed was the smell. It has a real fruity smell, which I loved. Then I saw that the texture of the shampoo is thick, shines, and is creamy. I applied the shampoo to my wet hair, and rubbed it in to form a lather. It lathered really well, and again I enjoyed the scent. I rinsed off the shampoo, and decided not to apply a second time. Instead I used one of my many conditioners. My hair wasn’t tangled, and felt squeaky clean.
After washing my hair I checked on the back of the bottle and these are the directions:
“Work through your other problems as you work this through your clean, damp hair. Rinse well and prosper.” I thought how strange. When I wash my hair it is because it is dirty, full of back combing, and hairspray. Maybe the person who wrote this was having a bad day or maybe drunk. So just ignore the directions.
I continue to use mousse on my hair, blow dry it, use a curling iron, and back comb it into a French twist. My hair was manageable and looked as good as normal. Even though I do everything in my power to ruin my hair, as you can see, Aussie Cleanse and Mend, did a good job on my hair. I have to say it is much better than the cheaper products, such as VO5 shampoo. It pretty much equals other shampoos with a similar price. I really believe you get what you pay for in a shampoo.
Water, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Glycol Distearate, Citric Acid, Cocamide Mea, Dimethicone, Fragrance, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Benzoate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Trimethylolpropate Tricaprylate/Tricaprate, Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract, Citris Glauca Fruit (Australian Desert Lime) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Ammonium Xylenesulfonate.
The second time I used Aussie Cleanse and Mend Shampoo, I really noticed that my hair, after washing, and before a little conditioner, was smoother than normal. It actually states on the bottle, that it guarantees radiant hair, in one use. It took me two washes to realize this, but I have to agree this is better than the average shampoo. I will certainly purchase it again if I get a great offer, coupon, or discount on it.
