When I first entered the blogging world, I never imagined how easy it was to find so many blogs related to some of my favorite subjects. I love to do crafty things and I found a zillion blogs highlighting craft from easy to difficult. I love to do creative things with my kids and I discovered an unending list of blogs that give me great ideas on how to teach and entertain them. There are blogs for homeschoolers and blogs for sports fans. This article is a small glimpse at the wonderful world of bargain blogs. (Warning: you will likely get caught up in the seemingly endless blog cycle of following links so far away from the original blog that you will never find your way back.)
The “Cent”sible Sawyer: I haven’t seen another bargain blog with this many different grocery stores featured. Her list includes (but is not limited to): Meijer’s, Aldi’s, Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Shaw’s, Kroger, Walgreens, CVS, Ingles, Publix, and Walmart. This blog also features links to some printable coupons along the side bars as well as within the posts. Denise includes a list of abbreviations used in her blog on the right side bar.
Christi’s (2) Cents: Christi shares free movie rentals with RedBox codes, CVS deals, free pictures deals with many different on-line and retail companies, grocery stores (like Homeland), and Walgreens deals just to name a few. Her blog also has printable coupons scattered throughout the posts and she references many other blogs where she finds other great deals. Another fun thing about this blog (and many of the others) is that if you have a blog, you can add a button for her blog so that your readers can have fast access to these deals as well.
Fiddle-dee-dee: This blog has deals that are specific to the Publix chain of grocery stores. The posts are separated into buy one get one free deals and regular sales. The author gives you the price after the sale and/or the coupon. The best thing about this blog is that she includes printable coupons for you to print out and get even bigger savings than just what is on sale in the store. I also love the Super Savers posts where the author of the blog outlines her great Publix buys with a photo, regular price, coupon savings, sales savings, and then the total out of pocket price. She saves around 50-70% each time she posts in this category!
Freebies 4 Mom: Freebies 4 Mom is just what it sounds like, a blog about free stuff! Heather has tons of information about how to get things free. Sometimes you will get information on sweepstakes, sometimes the information is about rebates (to get money back you have to first spend some money), or just information on how to get things absolutely free. Usually the free things are sample sized but sometimes they are regular sized. The blog itself also gives things away through random drawings.
Money Saving Mom: Crystal started writing this blog because of the overwhelming response she got to some tips she posted on her “regular” blog. She has a lot of experience being thrifty and gives us normal people a helping hand with her posts. Money Saving Mom has lots of deals from Walgreens and CVS, plenty of free picture offers, and lots of freebie alerts. I lover the “Start Here” section on the right side bar where she links to some of her posts to beginning your thrifty journey, including CVS 101 and Smart Coupon Strategies.
