Here is a top ten list of my personal favorite Christmas poems for 2008 created by Associated Content producers and why I think they are some of the best of the best Christmas poems on AC.
1. Twas the Night Before Christmas – 2008 by Chris Matier
I chose this poem because it is an interesting twist on a classic poem with a modern touch. This is a poem the modern day family in all the hustle and bustle and materialism can relate too and it brings us back to the true meaning of Christmas. I believe it is very nicely written and both elegance and chaos.
2. A Most Merry Christmas to All! by Prashant Sharma
This poem is at the top of my 2008 AC Christmas poems because I love the play in words describing the real meaning and magic of the season. With a true religious love behind this poem and a respect for the holiday spirit. This poem’s line that caught my eye in the middle of light and friendly sugar plum references was as follows, “And showed to all, that Good over evil shall eventually survive.”
3. Magical Christmas: A Christmas Poem by Bridgette Williams
I love this Christmas poem because it is a tribute to joy and scripture of blessing. This good willed poem wishing all health and prosperity during the Christmas season is a beautifully written piece.
4. Christmas Poems for Scrooge by Beermeman
I chose this funny and unusual Christmas poem for it’s creative and original edge. This nontraditional poem from a Christmas Scrooge’s point of view is excellent!
5. Funny Christmas Poems by Jason Zachmann
In this article Jason gives us not one but two delightful Christmas poems. The first a humorous poem about retrieving the family Christmas tree and the second titled, “Santa’s Sauce”. They are both worth a read!
6. Angel Haiku -3 Christmas Poems by Janienne Jenrich
These 3 beautiful haiku Christmas poems are inspired by angels and truly are angelic. These soft and touching poems are completed with a perfect picture of a snow angel with green grass showing underneath the angels imprinted wings.
7. The Angel on Christmas Eve: Christmas Poems by Natalie Tugade
This lovely descriptive poem is well written and deep. It is inspiring and definitely one of the best Christmas poems I have read from AC. This poem finishes off will the her instilled belief in god. Keep up the good work Natalie! We all want to hear more of your touching poems!
8. Christmas Poems – Winter Lights and Snowbirds by Jefferey Ching
This article from Jefferey includes 2 interesting poems written about personal relationships and reference to the snow and city. These are heart touching and I love this author’s deep style of writing. These are intriguing poems that leave me wanting more.
9. Blood Santa – Christmas Poems by TerraOmnia
This unconventional Christmas poem has been added to my top ten list for it’s true originality and creative aspects. “Blood Santa” is the first Christmas poem I have read written in this dark and bloody context. I love the contrast of the subject and the words.
10. Jingle Bell Schlock by Linda Ann Nickerson
Last but certainly not least is Jingle Bell Schlock. This poem is socially conscious and brings awareness of the world’s financial situations and economy today in both our country and worldwide. This article is quote, “A Christmas Poem to Drive Truth Home.”
I hope you all enjoy these ten Christmas poems as much as I have an share them with your friends and family this holiday season!
