Don’t let Christmas shopping give you the blues this season! If your loved one is a martial artist then shopping can be a bit tricky (especially if you have no clue about martial arts). In this article I have outlined 6 stocking stuffer gifts that would be great for any martial artist PLUS I have listed where you can get them as well.
Phiten Sport Aqua Titanium Bracelet – $13.50 @ www.gophiten.com
You’ve probably seen the copper or magnetic bracelets that promise to alleviate pain and enhance performance, but Phiten (pronounce fightin) has taken the concept to a whole new level. They have an entire line of products but I have chosen the Titanium Bracelet. The bracelet has carbonized titanium covered in rubber and a cloth shell so your skin doesn’t come in contact with the metal. These bracelets are stylish plus they are said to promote increased flexibility, relieve joint and muscle pain, alleviate discomfort, improve blood circulation, transport energy, and reduce fatigue (all the things a martial artist needs). These products are endorsed by MLB players, pro softball players, pro golfers, and marathon runners. You can check out a full line of products at www.gophiten.com and www.phitenusa.com (where you can also learn more about the technology).
Zen in the Martial Arts by Joe Hyams – $7.50 @ www.amazon.com
Zen in the Martial Arts is a wonderful and inspiring book that will make an excellent gift. It is a short read, so even if your martial artist isn’t a big reader they can make it through this one. Joe Hyams does a wonderful job of introducing the concept of zen and tells plenty of little stories to keep everyone motivated. You can get this book new or used from Amazon. Used books are always a great way to go and you can get them in good condition for dirt cheep.
Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach – $8.00 @ www.amazon.com
This is another wonderful, motivational book that will pump up your martial artist whenever he or she reads it. It is a very quick read and will give you a sense of enlightenment. Like Zen in the Martial Arts you can purchase this book at Amazon in either new or used condition.
UFC Flip Face Watch – $39.95 @ http://ufcstore.seenon.com/detail.php?p=71090
Is your loved one a UFC fan? If so then they will flip for this authentic UFC watch. The watch “flips” from a watch to a pewter and leather cuff bracelet. It also comes with a zippered “heavy bag” case.
Martial Arts Training Journal – $14.99 @ http://journals.cafepress.com/item/martial-arts-training-journal/322400402
Café Press seller Lora Severson Photography offers a very nice 5″ x 8″ journal so your loved one can keep track of training or make notes for improvement. The wire bound book has a white cover with a black belt and the words “Martial Arts Training Journal” on the front. You can choose from 160 lined pages, blank pages, a dot grid, or a task journal.
Stagr El Skel Shield Embroidered Beanie – $20.00 @ www.stagr.com
Don’t leave your loved one out in the cold, get him/ her the Stagr El Skel Shield Beanie. This beanie comes in black with the yellow El Skel logo embroidered on the front. This hat is a one size fits all and would be great to wear while training or to wear to and from the gym.
Hope my list helps you and makes this Christmas a merry one for you and your martial artist!
