A lot of children really hate brushing their teeth. Not only does a lot of toothpaste taste bad, but sometimes it hurts too. I remember when I was a child having to use a peppermint toothpaste that used to make my mouth hurt. Back then, they didn’t have many children’s toothpaste, so you just had to like it or lump it. Now, there are many brands of children’s toothpaste out on the market and some of them are really good. For the best children’s toothpaste for your child, try some of the following brands. All the toothpastes are a pretty good price, taste nice, and your child will really love brushing their teeth with them.
Tom’s of Maine, Natural Anti-Cavity Toothpaste for Children (Outrageous Orange-Mango): Tom’s of Maine makes awesome toothpaste. This anti-cavity toothpaste for children is fabulous because it tastes delicious, it has no artificial preservatives, saccharine, or dyes in it and it even has some real fruit juice in it to create that yummy taste. It’s a natural toothpaste for kids and, what I love about Tom’s of Maine, they don’t test their products on animals. So if your child is an animal lover, she/he will love Tom’s of Maine toothpaste too. Tom’s of Maine also has paste or liquid gel toothpaste and fluoride and non-fluoride. At less than $4 a tube, it’s a great deal too!
Weleda Mint Children’s Toothpaste – Weleda puts fennel, spearmint and calendula in their children’s toothpaste so you get a great taste plus the calendula is soothing to your child’s gums or sensitive teeth. Weleda Mint toothpaste is even a great toothpaste for your toddler’s first time cleaning their teeth, as it tastes nice and it’s not harsh so won’t hurt their little gums. All of the ingredients in this children’s toothpaste are natural and 100% certified organic, so no worries about your child eating chemicals or preservatives (because, yep, kids do eat toothpaste!) Cost on this one is around $6 – totally worth it.
Colgate Children’s 2-in-1 Toothpaste and Mouthwash, Watermelon or Strawberry Flavor – When I used to babysit kids, most of them loved watermelon and strawberries. They’ll also love this Colgate children’s toothpaste with the delicious fruity taste, and it comes with fluoride too. It’s not organic or preservative free, so you might only want to use this now and again, but as an enticement to brush, this toothbrush is sure to please. It’s also a bargain at less than $4 a tube.
Natural Dentist Toothpaste Child Sparkle Berry blast – This one is a really great children’s toothpaste for those kids who wear braces. It has aloe vera gel to help sooth and heal, Xylitol to get rid of the nasty bacteria that cause cavities, and a birch tree extract that helps fight cavities. It also has a cat with a huge grin on the front of the tube, making your kids think their grin will also end up that white and perfect. Around $6 for a tube.
Organic Mild Fennel Children’s Toothpaste by Urtekram – Made with essential oils and 100% organic, this Danish children’s toothpaste is widely used throughout Europe. It’s also not tested on animals. The tube has bright, happy, smiling starfish on the front and is a handy 75ml size, so easy for little hands to grasp. The fennel taste might not suit every child, but it is one of the healthiest toothpastes on the market for kids. At $12, it’s one of the more expensive toothpastes, as it’s imported. But, if your child will brush with it, it’s worth the price, right?
You might have to try a few children’s toothpastes before you find one your child likes. But, when you do, you’re guaranteed your child will love cleaning their teeth, which almost guarantees you less trips to the dentist as they get older. And what could be better than that?
