Hotels in Miami can have rooms starting the $300 or even $500 a night. But, when you are on a budget and need your cash to do things you want to do, there are hotels that have rooms starting at less than $200 a night and in some cases, less than $100 a night. You can up grade to a higher end room and pay the same or less than you would for the smallest rooms at the higher end hotels. These cheap bargain hotels will not have the amenities and the rooms may be smaller, but you come to Miami for the beaches and/or the golf and very few spend all day in the room.
