Handel’s Messiah is a well known chorus often performed during the Christmas season. The majestic Hallelujah chorus is the best known piece of Handel’s Messiah.
The work was conceived and was performed during Lent., but it has become common practice to perform Messiah during Advent, the month before Christmas.
The orchestration to Handle’s Messiah is spectacular. The verses of the chorus are taken from the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments.
