This super easy Christmas craft project is a wonderful one to do with the kids. The finished product is a Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer made entirely of construction paper. This Christmas decoration looks very attractive on a wall, a door or in a window. You could also put this reindeer on your Christmas tree.
Materials for the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Christmas Craft Project:
Place some white construction paper down on your workspace. Have your child place his hands down on the paper and trace around them. These pieces will be Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’s antlers. Draw a large peanut shape on a piece of brown paper. Then draw a nose, mouth and hat on red paper. Use the white paper scraps to make trim and a ball for the Christmas hat and some eyes. Then draw two small circles on blue paper for the eyeballs.
Carefully cut out all of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’s parts. If you like, you can have your child do part of the cutting. Trim the bottom part the palm area of the handprint. This will make them look more like Rudolph’s antlers.
Apply the glue stick to the back of the red Christmas hat piece. Then attach it to the top of Rudolph’s brown face. Glue on the Christmas hat trim and ball. Then apply some glue to the very front of the reindeer’s antlers. Make sure the thumbs of the handprint are on the inside. Secure the antlers to the back of Rudolph’s head.
Glue on the eyes and eyeballs about two thirds of the way from the top of Rudolph’s head. Attach the reindeer’s red nose in the middle. Place his mouth so that it’s spaced about the same distance from the nose as they eyes are.
This Christmas reindeer craft project is simple to mass produce. Simply stack the construction paper of the same color when you cut out a piece. This way, you can make many pieces at once. Be sure to use very sharp scissors when using this method, or the edges of the paper may turn out rough.
Allow the Rudolph Christmas craft project to dry completely before displaying it. To hang him on a wall, door or window, simply secure tape to the back or the front of the craft. To hang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on your tree, use a hole punch to make a hole in the top of the Christmas hat. Then place a piece of ribbon or yarn through the hole and tie it tightly.
