Unfortunately many people spend far more time at their workplace during the holidays than they do with friends and family. As consumer prices increase and employer raises and bonuses are at a minimum, more hours are spent at work trying to boost the weekly paycheck. While slaving away at a desk for hours on end may be the absolute last thing you want to be doing during the holiday season, a sure fire way to lift your spirits while earning your livelihood is to decorate your office cubicle with some cheery holiday decor. This article will offer some fun and festive ways to spruce up your office cubicle for Christmas.
Red And Green Desk Implements. Trade in your usual desk blotter, pencil cup holder, mouse pad and writing utensils for items with the traditional Christmas colors of red and green. If the office supplies on hand are the basic standard variety, head down to an office supply store such as Staples or Office Maxx and spend a few dollars replacing your current cubicle essentials with items that are festively colored and evoke a happy holiday feeling. Dollar stores carry red and green colored pencils and pens and even just a few “Christmassy” colored items will brighten your spirits throughout the workday.
Desktop Christmas Tree. An adorable little artificial Christmas tree placed on your desk is a wonderful way to brighten up your office cubicle. Gazing at a gaily colored Christmas tree while making phone calls and tapping away at the keyboard will bring a great amount of holiday cheer to the daily work drudgery.
Christmas Music. If your workplace permits the use of a personal CD player or MP 3 Player during business hours, toil away at your job while listening to classic or current Christmas songs. It is nearly impossible to not be filled with the Christmas spirit while listening to Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” or Bruce Springsteen’s “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.”
Christmas Artwork. If you have children who have been proudly bringing home their Christmas themed pictures and crafts, hang a few pictures on your cubicle wall and place your Pinecone centerpiece on your office desk. Tangible reminders of those that mean the most to you during the holidays will surely help to make the workday go by much faster and more productively.
Framed Family Photos. Go through your family photo albums and scrapbooks and pull out a few photos from your children’s first visits with Santa or the last holiday dinner you shared with Grandma and Grandpa. Placing a few of these photos in decorative frames and displaying them in your office cubicle will keep the warm feelings of the holiday season flowing all through the work week.
