Christmas Holiday Theatre Performances in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Milwaukee, Wisconsin is festively decorated for the Christmas holidays and is a sight to behold. Streets are decorated in blue LED lights. Moravian stars hang over intersections. Parks in the city are filled with decorated trees and lighted animated figures, adding to the joyous atmosphere in the city. In addition to the city itself, holiday performances bring Christmas spirit and cheer. The Milwaukee Ballet performs the Nutcracker Suite Ballet by Tchaikovsky. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens will be performed at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performs Holiday Pops and other concerts. Following is a guideline for some of the live performances this holiday season in Milwaukee.

The Nutcracker Suite Ballet

The Joan, Jack and Victor Stein Foundation Presents The Nutcracker on December 12 – 28, 2008. Tchaikovsky’s captivating score is played by the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra. Clara dreams of a handsome Nutcracker prince, marching soldiers, dancing dolls, flying angels and pirouetting snow fairies. The holiday tradition brings magic to the stage. The Milwaukee Children’s Choir and Milwaukee Ballet School dancers add charm to the production.

A Christmas Carol at The Rep

Charles Dickens’ holiday classic at the Pabst Theater is an annual tradition. This timeless classic brings a holiday message of hope and redemption. A Christmas Carol is sponsored by MillerCoors. See the Milwaukee Rep website for ticket information.

Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra

Holiday Pops plays on December 5-7 at Uihlein Hall. Jeff Tyzik, on of America’s foremost pops conductors and the MSO take listeners on a joyous musical sleigh ride. Tickets $35 – $92.

On December 31, Breaking Through to Joy includes Mozart Bassoon Concerto K. 191 and Beethoven Symphony No. 9 ‘Ode to Joy.’ $25 – $92.

Fireside Theatre

Take a trip out to Fort Atkinson for a live dinner theatre.

A Fireside Christmas is an annual production that started on October 23 and runs through December 21. The production is new and exciting every year, with new costumes, sets, songs and dancing. Enjoy a dinner along with the live entertainment. $43-$70.
