Family friendly entertainment at Navy Pier will delight kids and adults this holiday season. Take the family to Chicago’s Navy Pier for carnival rides, entertainment, special events, Santa Claus and more. Navy Pier is a Chicago landmark and one of the top destinations in the Windy City. Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier is a spectacular holiday event celebrating its eighth season of holiday magic. This year there are new attractions and over 170,000 square feet of indoor family fun. Admission to Winter Wonderland is free, although a purchase of a wristband is required to go on carnival rides and participate in the activities.
Santa Claus arrives by boat on November 29 to kick off the festivities at Chicago Navy Pier. Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with Santa’s Elves, will greet kids at Navy Pier through December 24.
Bank of America Winter Wonderfest features carnival rides, family friendly entertainment and special promotions. Winter WonderFest starts on December 5 and runs through January 4, 2009.
Over 750,000 sparkling lights dazzle visitors. Hundreds of beautifully decorated trees delight the crowds. Popular holiday attractions include the Chicago Blackhawk indoor ice skating rink, the indoor Ferris wheel, Reindeer Express Train Ride, Kringle Carousel and the Extreme Ice Trail Rope Course.
Chicago Blackhawks Skating Rink
The Chicago Blackhawks Skating Rink is a popular indoor ice skating rink at Navy Pier. Purchase of an upgraded wristband is required to use the ice skating rink. Skate rental is included in the price of the upgraded wristband. Every Sunday at noon Ronald McDonald will be at the rink.
Reindeer Express Train Ride is a trackless train ride with is appropriate for kids and family entertainment. The 300 foot ride around a magical holiday village display is a delightful journey for families.
American Girl Place
Just imagine the excitement of winning an American Girl doll. Visit Winter WonderFest from December 5 – January 4 for a chance to win in the daily giveaway. Every day the 2008 American Girl Doll of the Year, and a book, will be awarded. The entry form for Mia, The American Girl, is located inside the Bank of American Winter WonderFest.

Fireworks on New Year’s Eve
Visitors to Navy Pier on New Year’s Eve greet the New Year with a spectacular fireworks show at 8:15 pm and at midnight.
