I bought a jar of Claudia Stevens Cosmetic Scar Reducing Cream, facial formula. The reason being I have a small scar between my eyebrows. A few years ago I had a big red lump, come up in that area, and it looked like a mosquito bite. Later it turns white, so I knew that there was some pus in it. I squeezed it, and applied an antibiotic cream to the area. It left me with a scar, which is a complete white area, right in between my eyebrows. There is also a dent there, that only I notice.
Upon taking the jar out of the box, it is a white, round jar, and has Scar Reducing Cream on the front. Below it is facial formula, and then net weight 2 ounce. (60g).
The cream is a very thick, dark beige, to mid brown cream. When I put my finger into it, it leave a peak, which is very similar to a meringue. I then applied the creme to the area between my eyebrows. The scar/white area still looked a very pale color, and the area around it was darker than my complexion.
It states on the jar:
“Directions. Apply Facial Formula evenly and smoothly to the clean, dry, affected area. Re-apply as needed. Always apple before make-up.”
I rarely use makeup during the day, but I was a little frustrated that I would have to use makeup, with this product. I then put my Cover Girl Smoothers liquid makeup on my face and the scar was covered. However, when I just use liquid makeup it covers up the scar. So I decided that on times when I would be home, I would just apply the Scar Reducing Cream to the area, and see if the scar reduced in size, or would changed color. Nothing happened.
From the jar, here is the ingredients:
Water, Propylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearates SE, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Esters, Titanium Dioxide, Proplene Glycol Stearate SE, Mineral Oil, and Lanolin Alcohol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Isopropl Myristate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Aetate), Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera Gel), Collagen, Myristyl Myristate, Sodium PCA, Trisodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Iron Oxides.
I purchased this product because it was on the reduced shelf at Walgreen’s drugstore. I believe it cost around $3, so I am not sure of the normal retail price.
I purchased this product about nine months ago, and have been using it on and off. It has done nothing for the scar on my face. I am going to throw the remainder of the Claudia Stevens Cosmetic Scar Reducing Cream, in the waste bin. I just can’t be bothered applying it, and then using makeup too. This is the first skin/facial product that I truly think is a waste of money.
For external use only.
Keep out of the reach of children.
