What’s a superhero if he doesn’t have a damsel in distress to rescue? Sure rescuing the same woman over and over again can be a tough job, but some superheroes have it even worse; they’re in relationships with women whose strength matches their own. But no matter what kind of woman these superheroes are in love with, their sexy scenes together all sizzle on the silver screen in movies match-ups like these:
Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman and Michael Keaton as Batman in ‘Batman Returns’ – It’s impossible to forget Michelle Pfeiffer’s ultra-sexy take on Catwoman in that skin-tight PVC catsuit. And there is no better match for sexual tension onscreen than a man and woman who are obviously attracted to one another, but are constantly having to challenge each other with incredible physical feats. The Batman and Catwoman coupling is one of the sexiest of all superherodom, and it hasn’t been portrayed better than it is here.
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Famke Jensen as Jean Grey in ‘X2’ – I know Jean Grey and Cyclops are in a relationship, but I used to watch the X-Men cartoon series when I was younger just hoping that she’d change her mind and go for the more exciting, challenging man. Hugh Jackman is perfect in this film as Wolverine, and as Jean Grey, the sexy Famke Jensen has both beauty and a very powerful brain. The two characters are obviously attracted to one another, but I guess it’s just not meant to be.
Margot Kidder as Lois Lane and Christopher Reeve as Superman in ‘Superman’ – Before Margot Kidder was known for having a nervous breakdown and Christopher Reeve became one of the most pitied men in America, the two portrayed Superhero royalty as the most iconic couple in comic book history. It’s sad that the actor and actress had so many problems later in life, but they will always be remembered for taking part in the greatest superhero romance ever.
Tobey Maguire as Spider-man and Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane in ‘Spider-man’ – This is the best role I’ve ever seen Kirsten Dunst in, and she’s never looked better as a fiery redhead who falls for the mysterious man behind the Spider mask. Tobey Maguire seemed a little miscast as the Superhero at first, but he really pulls it off in this film. And the upside down kiss is definitely the best and most creative ever done in a superhero film (plus it’s super-sexy!)
Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Ben Affleck as Daredevil in ‘Daredevil’ – So the movie wasn’t that great, but at least the romantic part of the story was pretty unique and interesting. And this pairing did lead to one of those perfect Hollywood hookups that seems like it might really last and some very adorable kids.
Antonio Banderas as Zorro and Catherine Zeta Jones as Elena in ‘Zorro’ – I guess you could argue that Zorro isn’t a traditional superhero, but I like to think of him as an old-school Spanish Batman. Catherine Zeta Jones has never looked lovelier, and the scene where she is stripped with Zorro’s sword is definitely the most memorable of the film.
So save your Comic-Con costumes; snuggle up together; and watch some of these fun films about Superhero romances. Who knows? It could lead to some very fun Valentine’s Day role play.
