We’ve all been affected on some level by the U.S. recession. Because money is getting tighter, more and more people are on the search for downtown deals, or rather, deals in the downtown area or central part of your city. Here are four deals at major chain restaurants where your kids can either eat free or at a discounted rate in your city:
At some Denny’s restaurants, kids eat free on Tuesday and Saturday nights. You can receive up to two free kids meals for every one regularly priced adults meal. This is perfect for a single mother or father with two kids! The Denny’s deal accomodates kids ages 10 and younger. The kids menu includes hot dogs and french fries, grilled cheese, pancakes, and other meals.

Many people may believe that Lonestar Steakhouse sounds like a restaurant that would only be located in Texas, but not so. They are actually located in many other areas of the US including the Northeast, West Coast, and Middle America.
The Lonestar Steakhouse chain has a special kids eat free deal for the whole day on Tuesdays. Up to two kids can get a free meal off of the kids menu when one adult buys an entrée meal.
At Perkins Restaurants, which are located all over the country, kids can get a free cookie and free drink with their kids meal.
One place where you will be able to save some money when you bring your kids out to eat is at Chinese buffets, which are located everywhere. Owners of Chinese buffets know that kids will usually only eat a few things here and there at a buffet. They tend to pick at things here and there. So these restaurant owners don’t mind offering a discount to kids under a certain age.
Where an adult may have to pay as much as $12.95 for full access to a buffet, a kid under 10 will probably be able to eat for closer to 5 or 6 bucks.
This is definitely not a comprehensive listing of chain restaurants that offer kids eat free or discounted kids meals, but it’s a start if you want to eat out with your family and are trying to save some money.
There’s nothing worse than arriving at a restaurant with your entire family only to find out that they don’t offer a kids deal after all. So before you go into your local restaurant assuming that your kids are going to eat for free or at a discounted rate, call ahead to double check.
