For Florida, the weather was too chilly in the morning for a typical field trip. The good news is the kindergarten class of Enterprise Elementary School wasn’t going on your typical field trip. The field trip consisted of a Broadway quality play – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe performed at the Titusville Playhouse which is located on Julia Street off of US 1 southbound side.
If you are familiar with Titusville Highway US 1, is divided and splits downtown with the northbound traffic on South Washington Ave. and the south bound traffic on Hopkins Avenue. The building is older and sandwiched on the corner. The interior of the building is nice.
Tickets can be purchased for The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe in person or in advance. The play is open to the public Friday evening at 7 pm and Sat and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
The closed performance for the kindergarten classes was exceptional. All the actors put the energy of an opening night performance into the show. The play followed the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. If you are looking for live performance, the Titusville playhouse will make a great escape.
The chaperones of Enterprise Elementary School were unable to watch the performance. The tickets had been sold out to the students from all around. The buses were packed from the schools.
As the play was being performed, in typical Florida fashion, the weather warmed up nicely. After the play was over the children went to the park for lunch and recess. Recess turned into an hour and a half but all the students had fun.
The park had many activities and there were children from different schools that took time out of their field trip to enjoy the park and the weather. There were slides, rock climbing, monkey bars, and swings. Chaperones littered the park helping the teachers and playing with the students.
Fox Lake Park is a beautiful park with activities and shaded areas. The park is located off of Highway 405, which is South Street on the North Side of Highway 50, which is on the outskirt of Titusville. There are many covered areas if you are looking to hold an outside event. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy but reservations for large parties are best if you want a guaranteed spot on the premises.
For more information on the Titusville Playhouse you can call 321-268-3711. If you want to make a reservation at Fox Lake Park you can call 321-264-5105. Both facilities are worth a visit.
