Today, I recieved an awkward request in which prompted me to write this article. Yes, we all need to market and having friends online to help us along the way is great. We all know that word of mouth is the best type of marketing. This is for us writers and even internet marketing business owners.
Getting off-the-wall friend requests?
Wait, wait… it was actually a HubPage “fan” request. So this “person” sent me an email wanting me to add them as a “fan” of them. I never met this person. For all I know they could be a spammer or something. It is crazy to say the least. You don’t even want to know their name, so we won’t go there.
That isn’t all though…
There wasn’t a HubPage created at all. There wasn’t even a picture (or avatar) added either. I was shocked at the audacity they had to send a fan request. Fan of what? lol Anyways, let’s not make a big deal about but if you knew their name, you would understand, believe me.
Marketing techniques Katy!!
Okay, let’s just say that if you want to have an internet business, you must take heed to these tips.
First of all, building friendships are of the most important techniques. Honest friendships!
DO NOT send anonymous friend requests UNLESS you have a profile. This is poor marketing etiquette and is frowned upon. You don’t have to be a marketing guru to know that either.
DO request friends when you have an attractive profile with a picture or avatar uploaded. YOUR OWN picture of course (gosh, to say the least).
DO NOT betray trust in others. Doing this spreads a poor reputation ripple effect on not only you, but all of your affiliations. Not good. It’s like any other business and determines whether you will be successful or not.
DO your best to make sure that your clients are satisfied. This shows just how dedicated you are to your work and customer satisfaction. It goes a long way.
DO NOT just throw yourself out there hopeing that everyone will flock to you. NOT happening. This takes work… a lot of work!!
DO let yourself be known through honesty, dedication, satisfaction and loyalty. This helps with future buisness transactions. (it also works for us writers who have clients, as well).
DO NOT spam or sell a clients information. They are more then a number or an email.
Online businesses are becoming more and more popular and it is important to be more then just another email spammer. When you take the time to get to know people, you will be amazed at the less work you have to do to gain clientale. Why, you ask? That is simple! Because they will do the marketing for you.
