There are a total of 5 super mutant behemoths in Fallout 3. If you kill all 5 of the super mutant behemoths, you will earn “The Bigger They Are…” achievement worth 20 Gamerpoints. Killing the super mutant behemoths on your own is extremely difficult, especially if you are at a low level. Getting the alien blaster can save you a lot of difficulty killing the super mutant behemoth. To learn more about getting the alien blaster, click HERE.
The first super mutant behemoth is impossible to miss if you tackle the Galaxy News Radio quest, as you will encounter him at the entrance to the radio station. There are plenty of Brotherhood of Steel members around to take care of the super mutant behemoth, so if you are a low level, you can simply sit back and let them take him out.
The second super mutant behemoth can be found north of the Takoma Industrial Factory and east of the Galaxy News Radio station. There is a truck and a water tower in this vicinity. Above the tower you will find a switch that will activate some artillery which can save a lot of trouble in killing the super mutant behemoth.
Next up, there is another super mutant behemoth west of Vault 101. Once you hit the Jury Street Metro Station, it is only a little further west. There will be a group of wrecked train cars, one of which will hve a shopping cart containing a teddy bear in it. Once you pick up the teddy bear, the super mutant behemoth will come running. Again, these behemoths are incredibly powerful and you will have much less help on this beast, so using the alien blaster here is advised. To learn more about getting the alien blaster, click HERE.
The train yard in Evergreen Mills holds another super mutant behemoth. Evergreen Mills is located south-west of the Jury Street Metro Station mentioned above. This time, the behemoth is trapped in an electric fence. While he will sometimes break out of the area, you can often kill him with a ranged weapon, just be weary of the Raiders there. Alternatively, you can destroy the generator to free the behemoth from the electric fence, allowing him to ravage the Raiders (be aware that you are throwing away a lot of XP by not killing the Raiders yourself). Keeping to high ground with a sniper rifle will give you an excellent advantage. Be sure to get the Terrible Shotgun from Smiling Jack, who can be found in the main building.
The final super mutant behemoth can be found at the west entrance to the Capitol Building. He will be fighting the Talon Company mercenaries. If you have trouble here, once again, use the alien blaster or a Fat Man on him if you have one.
Congratulations, you’re now one Bad A$$. Killing all five super mutant behemoths is no small feat.
