Find Your Perfect Shade with Revlon Custom Creations Foundation

by yup tab

A couple months ago I had some spots removed from my face at my dermatoligists office. Unfortunately, one of the treatments left a red area on my face, which is slowly fading, but is still there. I have never been one to wear a lot of make up, so I went to Gottschalks and paid nearly $30 to have their beauty experts match a foundation to my skin tone. Well, that wasn’t very successful, as they didn’t get it right, and the foundation makes me look pasty and sick. When I was looking at the cheaper foundations at Fred Meyer, I noticed a product that looked perfect, it’s Revlons Custom Creations Foundation, which is an adjustable foundation.

Description

This comes in different tones, I chose the fair/light. The bottle consists of two chambers, each holding a dark and a light shade of liquid foundation. There is a dial at the top of the bottle with 5 numbers (and shades), and you simply move the selector to the right color for you. Number 1 has the lighter color and number 5 has the darker color, with variations of the two colors in between.

The foundation is dispensed by pushing the pump top down, and the dispenser is covered with a clear cap to keep it clean. Unlike most foundations on the market, this bottle also locks in place so that it can’t spill out if you are carrying it in your purse or travel bag. An extra bonus is that this Revlon Custom Creations Foundation has a sunscreen, with a SPF of 15! It’s available in six color combinations: Fair/Light, Light, Light/Medium, Medium, Medium/Deep and Deep.

Thoughts

This is the first foundation that allows me to find my natural color! It’s perfect because my skin is always darker during the summer months when I am outdoors more, and lighter in the winter months when I spend more time inside. No matter the season, this foundation can be adjusted to match my skin tone perfectly. It takes some trial and error to get the right shade, but isn’t hard to do. The foundation does come out of the bottle fairly easily, so I pump it slowly to be sure I have the right shade before wasting too much of it.

As far as feel, this foundation has a light airy feel, and blends into the skin smoothly and easily without leaving any streaks. I hate foundations that leave the ridge along the jaw if they are too dark, or leave the skin looking pasty if they are too light. It does a good job of covering up my small skin imperfections, yet leaves my face looking natural and not “made up”.

Considering the high end name brand foundations can cost as much as $40, I feel the retail price of this, $13.99, is a good buy. Luckily for me, there was an in store coupon available and I was able to get it for only $12.00. Now I will be watching for sales, and Revlon products are often on sale at Fred Meyer stores. All in all, I don’t have anything negative to say about this foundation. It lives up to it’s billing, it works great, and it’s affordable. I give Revlon Custom Creations Foundation two thumbs up!
