You don’t need a gym membership to stay in shape. Use inexpensive items for a home workout that will rival the one you get at the gym. You can even use free workout solutions. Stay home to work out. Avoid the expense of the gym. If you have a gym membership, these can be used in between visits. These free and inexpensive home gym ideas will have you physically fit in no time at all.
Stair steppers promote endurance and strength. Where did this particular piece of gym equipment get its inspiration? Remember Rocky? Climb up and down those stairs at home absolutely free for an awesome workout. If no stairs are available, purchase an inexpensive stable step stool for the home gym.
Your feet are free. Taking them for a walk in the fresh air and sunshine, near home or work, is far superior to the treadmill and it’s free. On bad weather days, walk or jog in place in your “home gym”. If things get boring, put on an inexpensive radio with headphones and workout those tunes with the pounding of your feet on the floor.
Unless we’re talking professional body builder here, anything done with weights in a gym can be accomplished at home with a set of inexpensive dumbbells and an elastic band. Exercise bands come with a workout sheet. Dumbbells can be used along with walking, jogging or floor exercise to add gusto to your home gym workout.
Whether you’re into Pilates, yoga, aerobics, dance, Jazzercise, kick boxing or something else entirely, DVD’s for this type of inexpensive home workout routine are available everywhere. They’re not expensive. Plus, there’s the benefit of unlimited free workout classes. Chip in on an inexpensive DVD with some friends. Your home workout becomes almost free. Do this home gym workout together or pass the DVD around if that’s not a convenient option. Either way, this is an outstanding home gym cardio workout.
I still highly recommend Planet Fitness as an inexpensive workout gym. I have a membership at Bally Sport now. It’s a little closer to home and still economical. When I can’t get there, due to weather or scheduling, I use all the above methods in my “home gym” for a free or inexpensive home workout. Staying in shape is too important to let finances stand in the way. Working out isn’t easy, particularly when you haven’t done it for 30 years. However, the rewards gained from these free or inexpensive home gym methods far outweigh the pain.
