While staying overnight at a close friend’s house this past weekend, I had the opportunity to sample one of the most flavorful and well- textured soft Italian breads that I have ever eaten. The brand of soft Italian bread that she served is Freihofer’s Premium Italian Seeded bread. I was so impressed with this product that I decided to write a consumer product review about it. Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer is one food writer’s consumer product review of Freihofer’s Premium Italian Seeded bread.
Freihofer’s Premium Italian Seeded bread is packaged in a clear plastic bag that is emblazoned with the Italian colors of red, green and white. Because of the shape of the bread slices, the loaf does not take up much room.
Texture / Consistency
The texture of Freihofer’s Premium Italian Seeded bread is very appealing. This bread is very soft and maintains a delectable mouth – feel. Whether it is eaten straight- from- the- bag, toasted or grilled, the soft texture of this bread makes it a pleasure to eat at any time.
While sitting at my friend’s kitchen table, I happened to look at the retail price printed on the label of Freihofer’s Premium Italian Seeded bread. The printed, or suggested retail price of the bread is $3.39. When I mentioned to my friend that I thought the price was fairly high, she picked up the loaf of bread and showed me a sticker that was attached to the bottom of the loaf. The sticker was a Wal – Mart price sticker and the price that was printed on it was $1.97. My friend said that she indeed paid only $1.97 for the Freihofer’s Premium Italian Seeded bread at a local Wal – Mart, which I thought was a substantial savings. Even at $3.39 for one loaf of Freihofer’s Premium Italian Seeded bread, the price would be absolutely worth it. Compared to loaves of Italian bread purchased from a bakery, which have a propensity for getting stale quickly and are often somewhat expensive, Freihofer’s Premium Italian Seeded bread is actually an economical product.
