12 IF you find yourself getting a ton of colds, minor infections, allergy symptoms, or just taking longer than average to heal; be sure to check for underlying causes. Often you could be sick and not realize it until you have developed a domino effect of other symptoms. Something considered minor can weaken your immunity system enough that a major illness walks right in. Some illnesses that weeken your immunity but may not show themselves are: Diabetes, cancer, lung problems, and HIV. You can also have a weakened system if you smoke or take drugs. Always be sure to follow up with a doctor if you find yourself feeling more “OFF” than usual. Take care of your body if you want it to take care of you.
13 I wanted to include a little about Acai berries since it has become so popular. These little berries are packed with antioxidents, amino acids, and lots of nutrients. They are being billed a the new diet miracle. Question is how do you use these guys. You can find them in most health food and gourmet type stores. Acai comes in several forms including, berries, pulp, juice, pills, powder, and several more. You can add these guys in as a supplement, or build a meal around them using the juice and pulp. Oprah has a nice piece on her website about acai. Remember to always research a new “diet” item to make sure there is no clash between any medications or healthfood items you may be already taking.
