It is that time of year again, well the second year. Google is announcing another Doodle 4 Google contest. This is open to secondary and elementary schools grades K-12; you will need your teacher to sign you up.
What is Doodle 4 Google?
This is a fun contest where kids from all over the United States can play around with Google’s logo. The theme this year is, “What I Wish for the World.” Google is asking all kids to get creative there is even a tip page right here, to read before you start redesigning the logo.
Prizes and Judging:
All students in the United States will be broken down into groups for judging, the groups are: Kindergarten thru 3rd grade, 4th thru 6th grade, 7th thru 9th grade, and 10th thru 12th grade. There are 10 different regions through all of the Untied States. Judges will grade individual regions for every part of the Country.
There will be 100 State finalists in each age category from across the country. Judges will knock that down to 10 regional winners in each category. The final stage is the National finalists this stage will only have one winner from each category. Out of the 4 entries left Google will decide the National winner for the Doodle 4 Google contest.
This lucky kid will get their logo displayed on Google for a full 24 hours. Plus here is the list of other prizes:
15,000.00 Scholarship to whatever school they want to go to.
Trip to New York City to visit the Google office
A t-shirt with their Doodle 4 Google logo on it
Their school will receive a $25,000 technology grant
There is more, the other finalists will also receive prizes too. The 360 State finalists will receive a Doodle 4 Google winner’s certificate. The 36 regional finalists will receive a trip to the New York office of Google and a t-shirt with their Doodle 4 Google design. The 3 national finalists will receive a trip to the New York office of Google, a laptop, and a t-shirt with their Doodle 4 Google design. There will also be district quality participation in the amount of $10,000 for the district that encourages the best quality.
Who Can Enter?
All students in the grades K-12 can enter. You will need your teacher to sign you up for this contest. If your school is not entering and you want to enter alone you will still need your teacher to enter for you. Each school is allotted 6 entries. The registration deadline is March 17th at 11:59:59pm this is Pacific Time. All entries need to be received by March 31st at 11:59:59pm Pacific time. To register for this contest click here.
