Ants in the kitchen. There is nothing worse than seeing little ants walking across the kitchen counter. Keep kitchen counters clean. There is something to be said about keeping your kitchen clean. Ants love those little food specks. Have sugar on your counter, and you are sure to have ants follow. The best way you can begin getting rid of the little ants is by keeping all counters clean. Not only clean with water, but also, you can use vinegar, which only keeps the counters cleaner.
Keep Food in Containers. If there is nothing for the ants on your counter, you will start to see a decline of ants on your counters. Keep your counters clean and all food put up or in containers. You can get Tupperware at Wal-Mart or your local discount store. This will keep all food off the counters.
Follow the Trail of Ants
Before you can get rid of the ants, you have to follow their trail. This means, finding out where they are coming from. Many times it is a small hole. Once you have the entry, you will need to clean this area thoroughly.

Often, ants come in through broken door or window sills. By mending these, you are limiting the ways that ants will come into your home.
By taking out the trash often, this is just another way to keep the ants away. They will come after food, sweets in general. By keeping the house free of trash, you are ensuring the ants of little to no reason to be there.
Mop your floors with bleach. If you do this regularly, you are doing your part in keeping the house free of ants.
