My living space is a sea of tranquillity! I love it! With warm hues of browns and tans, I’ve added an eclectic mix of black furniture and interesting foliage. Copper metal art is on my walls and cypress candles are displayed on my leather coffee table. Could you imagine a better location for a Jungle Themed Christmas Tree? I couldn’t! I can’t help it. I color coordinate for Christmas. I just couldn’t bring myself to decrorate with red and green and interrupt the flow of my space. I did find places to use last year’s red and green goodies, but this year’s tree is going on safari! And I love it! Here’s how you can make your own Jungle Themed Christmas Tree.
Here’s what you’ll need to pull off this jungle theme.
3 to 4 yards of jungle print material for the skirt
Copper colored ornaments
Wooden animal ornaments
2 or 3 strands of white Christmas lights
Copper colored ribbon with the wire inside
First swirl the tree skirt material around the bottom of the Christmas tree. I never bother sewing, just swirl it around sumptuously and hide the ends by tucking them under. You can always use the jungle fabric for throw pillows or some kind of decorating after the holidays.
Then, strand your white lights. Multi-colored lights would not go well on your tree.
Next you’ll hand your ornaments. I used a lot of wooden elements to decorate with. I have natural carved wooden ornaments and figurines. I also found some wooden beads I made 3 foot strands with and hung them as well. I used copper colored ornaments. Visit the Jungle Store online to get great Jungle Animal ornaments. They have monkeys, tigers, cheetahs, gorillas and every other jungle animal you can think of! I love this store! Check for their link below. Another great place to buy jungle ornaments is Bronners. They have a lovely Lioness you can hang from your branches.
Finish your holiday masterpiece by topping it with a copper bow. Make it nice big and allow several yards of ribbon flow from it on all sides. You could also make some smaller bows to put all over your branches.
Use your imagination and really go ape with your Jungle Themed Christmas Tree. If you want to complete the look then buy some leopard print stockings to hang. You could also decorate Palm Trees and other unique trees in this fashion. This unique theme is perfect for the guy or gal who likes something a little different in the way of decorating for Christmas.
