If you find you are fresh out of fun winter party ideas, why not try having an indoor golf party? A golfing party is a lot of fun for kids and enables them to use their imagination when preparing for the party. To get started with your golf party you will need to make creative invitations. Obviously since this is a golfing party you will want your invitations to be in the shape of a golf ball. You can help your child make their invitations right on the home computer. You can easily find images of golf clubs and balls to use on your invitation. You can insert the date and time for the party and of course the rsvp number and time. Allow your child to be included on the creation of the party items. They will find it to be a lot of fun.
Next you will need to figure out how you are going to set up your golf course in your home. Depending on how your home is arranged you may be able to utilize one main room and the hallways. Once you figure out what room in your home will be the center of the party you can start sketching out your party decorations. You will want to make your golf course come alive on paper first, and then find the materials and items to make it happen.
First you will need to come up with several different golfing areas. I have found that coming up with an overall theme is a good idea. My children love animals so we decided to create a jungle themed golf course. For the first putting hole we used a very large gorilla that we had won from a carnival. The stuffed animal was arranged so that he was holding a small cup, which is where you were supposed to shoot the ball into. This was the first location. After that station we moved on to the giraffe area. Since we did not have a huge giraffe, we created one using cardboard. We made a small hole in the bottom of the picture so that the kids could hit the ball through it. These are just a few examples and ideas that you can use for your golf course. Whatever theme you decide to use you can create a course that works it’s way around the room. You can use everyday items from around the house, and create some new items. Allow your kids to use their imagination for this party and let them help you to arrange everything. You can purchase golf kits at your local toy store. These kits usually include a few plastic golf clubs and balls for kids. For one party you can purchase maybe two or three that can be shared, depending on how many children you plan on inviting.
On the day of the party you can blow up some balloons and tie them to each of the putting holes. Goodie bags are also a good idea to have after the kids have finished playing their golf games. You can have cute little golf bags with toys inside. Remember to stick with the golf theme. I have even been able to find little golf hats for the kids.
When it is time for snacks, finger foods are best for little golfers. You can make or purchase a large sub and cut it up into little pieces. The sandwich pieces should be big enough to fit into the hands of little ones. You must also have the golf ball cupcakes. This may be a fun project for kids after they have finished their golf game. You can have a baking area all set up and allow the kids to make their own golf ball cupcakes. You can purchase the molds from your local cake store or arts and crafts store.
So when you are trying to think of fun indoor activities that you and your child can do during the winter months, why not plan a golfing party. You will be surprised at how much fun, you and your children have.
