There have been a few articles published regarding the comparison between Informative Post versus Associated Content. The content appears here and at the IP website. AC and IP each have positive and negative aspects depending on what you read. The comparison can stop – at least for a while.
The Informative Post, per the owner’s blog www.brownphp.com , is now up for sale. The site is not producing enough income to pay authors for freelance work. People were paid what was owed them through January, some money coming out of the owner’s pocket. From here on out – or until a new buyer with new guidelines surfaces – authors will only be paid for page views at the rate stated under their FAQ’s. Example: If your rating is l50 or lower that means you will earn .50 per 1000 page views. Doesn’t seem worth the effort does it?
There has not been any new content published since approximately Feb. 4th. Comments have been updated but that is about the only new information you can read at the Informative Post. Authors were given the option to remove whatever they want from their queue, or leave it and it will be expedited. So far nothing new has been expedited. If there isn’t new information available for readers then traffic to the site will quickly fade away.
In order not to abandon a sinking ship I’m sure there are authors who will continue to write and get their articles published and earn a whopping 50 cents now and again at the Informative Post. You can’t get paid until you reach $25 so I’m betting not many authors will be hanging around waiting for a new buyer to get on-board. People are interested in freelance work, not free work.
For those of you who have not visited the IP site www.informativepost.com , there are normally only 5 or 6 articles published daily (Monday-Friday). There are also approximately 6 comments that are updated daily. Oh, that was in the past don’t forget. The same comments from last week were just updated after over a week. As of now no new content has been published. There seems to be some ads that have appeared but I guess they are not producing enough income. There are no more “jobs”, which was another way an author could make a few bucks. The owner also stated he started a new job and doesn’t have time for IP since his commute is longer now.
As people have mentioned you cannot find any information on the authors at IP. The reader cannot tell how many articles each member has had published, the names of articles, etc. Associated Content’s website seems superior to IP, and that’s because it is. There is a lot of information and structure here. It can be a little intimidating to a newbie like me, but I read a little each day and am trying to learn the ropes. A few authors have already welcomed me and provided helpful hints. I appreciate that. So far I am thoroughly enjoying my time doing freelance work at Associated Content.
Since all this information about Informative Post is right out there where anyone can read it on the site the information was easy to obtain. There is a link on the IP site to the owner’s blog.
