There is nothing more frustrating than cleaning your windows or the windshield in your car just to see that it didn’t do much good to clean them because your cleaner has left them streaky and has left dirty residue and fingerprints behind. When you have to struggle to see through the streaks that most glass cleaners leave you might as well have left them dirty. That is because most glass cleaners are made of soaps, water, scent and dye additives which are going to streak your glass.
I have tried all the leading brands and even used vinegar because someone told me that it wouldn’t streak my windows. That also didn’t work very well and it sure didn’t smell very good either. I tried cleaning all the windows in my house one day with a cheaply bought glass cleaner that I had picked up somewhere. No matter what I did, or what kind of cloth I used to wipe the cleaner on with; it left streaks. I went out in my husband’s garage frustrated, and he had Invisible Glass; a glass cleaner that he had picked up in the auto supply section at Wal-Mart. He told me to try it and see if it was any good. I have used it since then and refuse to go back to using other glass cleaners. This is the best product I have found for no streaked windows.
Invisible Glass is made by Stoner and can be found in most auto parts stores like Advance Auto, Auto Zone, or Napa, or in the auto supply section of your local department store. Since most of my shopping is done at Wal-Mart I pay the price of $3.47 for a spray bottle (22 oz.) of Invisible Glass. Compared to one of the leading brands which cost $2.88 for the same size bottle you are only paying a little more and you are getting something that really works. You can also find it in the spray can, and I have also tried the wipes which come in a container of 28 premium wipes for the same price of $3.47. These are not little wipes they are 7 x 12 inches wide, and are wet and strong enough to do some heavy duty cleaning.
When using Invisible Glass apply more than one coating as the first coating loosens dirt, bird droppings, and smoke film. Also clean your wiper blades when cleaning your windshield so that the grime on them is not put right back on the first time it rains and you need to use them. Use microfiber cloths that are chemical free. When you wash them use dish detergent instead of laundry detergent because the chemicals in most laundry soap leave residue that cause streaking. Do not use fabric softener in your washer as this leaves a filmy appearance to your glass. Hand washing is best if you are willing to take the time to do it. Hang your cleaning cloths to dry because dryers will leave lint in them which will get onto your glass. Paper towels will also leave lint when cleaning glass.
