Movies. Television. Calendars. Magazines. Jennifer Aniston is a one-woman media blitz. And her nude + necktie cover for GQis the talk of the internet.
Although it remains to be seen if “Marley & Me” turns into box office gold, it seems that Jennifer Aniston is a hot commodity these days, so chances are good that the movie will do well. Aniston is also appearing in the January issue of GQ nude as well as on the now storied cover. Proving she is hot in more ways than one, Jennifer Aniston went her 2009 desktop calendar, where she does some revealing wet t-shirt poses, one better by wearing nothing but a red, white, and blue necktie.
And now it is the Jennifer Aniston necktie cover of GQthat everyone is talking about. After several rocky months with her boyfriend John Mayer, the 39-year-old actress may just be ready to reassert herself as everybody’s favorite television actress as well.
There are rumors circulating that Jennifer Aniston may take a permanent position on the cast of the Emmy winning “30 Rock.” Aniston guested on the NBC sitcom back on November 13 as a stalker of Jack Donaghy, the television executive played by Alec Baldwin. Aniston told GQ: “That to me, is an ideal job: great cast, New York City. We’ll see what I say if they come back and ask me – I wouldn’t say yes, I wouldn’t say no.”
It sounds as if the indecisive Jennifer Aniston has been taking speech lessons from her boyfriend-perhaps-fiance, John Mayer. Mayer, who was recently nominated for five Grammy Awards, says he had no problem with Aniston posing nude in only a necktie. He told reporters at the “Marley & Me” premiere, where he did not walk the red carpet with Aniston, “I mean, if I have a problem with that cover, I should just get the hell out of here. If I have a problem with that cover, I should just pack up the Toyota and head out of town. I’m just gonna get ready to put my knuckles in the air for it.”
When someone tried to get Mayer to pose with a copy of the GQ issue, he refused, saying, “No, don’t make me hold it – you’re pimping me out! Because when I touch it, angels die.”
At least he isn’t killing her career.
According to the Huffington Post, Aniston also talked about the GQ nude cover at the Hollywood premiere of “Marley & Me.” She told reporters, “I wasn’t trying to make any statement.”
By the looks of some of Aniston’s last few statements, that might be a good thing. Besides, the necktie said it all: she’s patriotic.
As for her relationship with the Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated guitarist, she told GQ: “I am not having his baby. And I have not popped the question.” It was rumored that Aniston asked Mayer to marry her a couple months ago.
Which means, it would seem, that Aniston will have plenty of time for making more movies and more television, like “30 Rock.” Maybe even a television-safe nude scene, a la the GQ cover. Perhaps a necktie optional scene. It would certainly get the ratings up.
Of course, she could also have meant that if the question were popped, she would have to be the one who does it, since few people have been able to get a coherent statement out of John Mayer in years.
“Marley & Me” opens in theatres Christmas Day.
