Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24 1982 in Burleson, Texas, 12 miles south of Fort Worth), is an American singer. Clarkson became popular by winning the first season of American Idol. Taken under the wing of RCA Records, she launched her first album Thankful, which met with moderate success.
In 2004, away from the image of American Idol Kelly Clarkson took more control of her career and developed a more rock style for the launch of her second album Breakaway. The album is a success in the United States. Five singles were extracted and they all were a huge success.
The young woman, originally from Burleson, Texas enjoys singing since the age of seven. That’s when the director of the school choir hears her sing for the first time and does everything to convince her to join it.
Once she completed high school, she left her native Texas to conquer Hollywood. She landed small roles in television series including Sabrina, the teenage witch. The opportunities are rare and she returned to Burleson, gets a job in a cinema before becoming ambassador to drink Red Bull, then became a waitress in a bar.
That’s when she is trying her luck in the television show American Idol. The competition is fierce as more than 10,000 people involved in hearings held across the United States. She is fast with her powerful voice and is surprisingly mature for a girl her age as well as his charm and good child’s sense of humor.
During the thirteen weeks of issuance, it offers remarkable benefits continuously, delivering interpretations convincing performing many hits such as Respect, Natural Woman, Stuff Like That There, and Without You. Clarkson consistency earned her enough votes from the public to rank between the two finalists. After singing A Moment Like This and Before Your Love, two original songs written for the show, she won the competition with 58% of the votes.
Clarkson’s victory earned her a contract worth one million dollars with RCA Records and a recording solo album. She is called to participate in various events, including an American Idol tour and interpretation of the U.S. national anthem at a ceremony commemorating the victims of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, all taking place in Washington DC
Despite her new fame, Kelly Clarkson decides to remain in Texas rather than move to Los Angeles or New York. Her first single, A Moment Like This, was launched only two weeks after the end of the show and breaks record sales in the United States. It is ranked number one in the United States.
