Last Minute Christmas shopping? It’s never fun to wait until the last few days before Christmas to get your shopping done. It would be very wrong for me to say that most have already finished with their Christmas shopping. Why do I know this? Because I’ve weathered the traffic the last few years on the days before Christmas and it’s always insane. So if you are last minute Christmas shopping then you are not alone!
So if you don’t want to leave the house and bother with the madhouse that is the mall this close to Christmas, here are some ideas. I’ve always pulled this one out of a hat. Speedymags.com has a terrific deal for magazine subscriptions. You can get 3 for 28 dollars or 4 for 35 dollars. I have always used this to send BassMaster to my dad, Motorcycle World to my brother, Reader’s Digest for my mother and OK Magazine for my wife. Just browsing through and it looks like TV Guide has been added to the mix. Of course, you’ll have to gift wrap a card that says “Merry Christmas, and oh yeah, I got you a subscription to Name of Magazine here.” But it’ll work and it’s the gift that keeps on giving throughout the year. I am surprised at how effective this little gift has been throughout the years. Of course that’s not the only Christmas gift I give to those family members.
Gift Cards are a very easy way out. But no one will argue with having their own chance to purchase what they really want. And if that person happened to spend too much money for Christmas gifts then maybe that would even allow them to purchase their groceries instead of a present. Sometimes I get those gift cards for relatives and it helps me get through the pay period when I’ve spent too much. A loaded Walmart Card knows no boundaries when it comes to gift giving.
Dads love razors. Nice electric razors that they wouldn’t purchase any other time. That’s a simple present but it’s another gift that keeps giving. Every morning for the next 6 months they will praise you for providing them with something that makes their day go just a little bit better. Hint, don’t buy the cheap ones because usually they don’t last very long and can cut your face.
Grandparents love eating out. A gift card to Red Lobster, Olive Garden or Texas Roadhouse never hurt anyone. And if they are like my family, they will probably invited you along to help spend it!
Moms love pictures. Haven’t met a mother yet that wouldn’t love a photobook of their favorites grandchildren or children. This is definitely an easy last minute gift idea and these photobooks can be purchased online through a place like Snapfish or Walgreens and printed out in just a few days.
Teenage boys love games. If you have a Wii, Playstation or XBOX then your answer is very simple. Just check the old game cabinet before you leave to make sure they don’t already have it.
Teenage girls love The Gap, Abercrombie and Fitch, Aeropostale and American Eagle. Want to make them happy? Gift cards to any of these will make their life better.
Little ones love toys and it’s probably not too hard to find something agreeable for a last minute Christmas gift idea. But have you ever tried the “Build A Bear”. Usually these stores are in the mall and you can actually build a bear. So you might want to get a gift certificate so they can actually witness the whole stuffing process and pick out some accessories.
Anyway, those are just some thoughts for last minute Christmas gift ideas if you’re struggling. Hopefully it will go smooth and you’ll skip most of the traffic if you haven’t already! Good shoppning and Merry Christmas!
