Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah recently delivered a speech urging his supporters to join the battle against Israel due to their attacks on Gaza. Now rockets are being shot into Israel from Lebanon. It seems once again Nasrallah is using Hezbollah as a way to incite Israel’s anger against Lebanon. Hezbollah is a negative force in Lebanon. The country longs for peace; however, Hezbollah is constantly inciting violence and war.
The London Times reports that at least three Katyusha rockets were fired at Israel from Nahariya. Israel responded with artillery fire and also shut all schools in the area. Two Israelis were injured by the rockets shot from Lebanon.
According to the London Times, Nasrallah’s speech to his Hezbollah supporters stated: “Your 2006 war will be but a walk in the park compared to what we have prepared for you in the event of a new offensive. We are ready to sacrifice our souls, our brothers and sisters, our children, our loved ones for what we believe in.”
In the Gaza attacks 700 Palestinians have been murdered and 10 Israelis have been murdered as well. That is more than enough death. The bombing and rockets should stop and Lebanon should not get involved.
Lebanon saw enough death in the 2006 war. Lebanon longs for peace so its country may regain its security and beauty. Lebanon longs for stability and prosperity. Hezbollah is a negative influence in Lebanon.
Hassan Nasrallah, the evil leader of Hezbollah, does not speak for Lebanon as a whole when he says “we are ready to sacrifice our children.” Lebanon has already lost enough children to war. Lebanon needs diplomacy and peace, not rockets and bombs.
The 2006 war cost too many lives. The war destroyed infrastructure of Lebanon and left too many Lebanese homeless. Too many children were orphaned in the 2006 war. Lebanon has been in turmoil for so long.
What drives men such as Nasrallah to want to incite war? Ego is surely at play. There are many modern day Hitlers, fraught with ego and malice and eager to build an empire and a following of ardent supporters.
Nasrallah wants Lebanon at war. He is a modern day Hitler bringing havoc and destruction to Lebanon.
I would love to live in Beirut someday. I long to experience everyday life in the country of my ancestors. For now, life there is too unstable. Eventually I hope to someday spend at least a year exploring Beirut.
Peace is the only answer for Gaza and Lebanon. Pray for peace. Salaam, shalom, peace.
