Recently, I purchased new products, new as in products I had not tried before, from cosmetic companies that I had. The products include Instant Age Rewind cream Foundation by Maybelline, Revlon Illuminance Creme Eye Shadow, and In Color by Jordana Lip Gloss. I have been using each product for over a month now. This is my review of each of the three items, including cost, where to buy, and the positive and negative effects of each product. For the record: I do not work for any of these companies, nor any other cosmetic company, or store, so my opinion is unbiased.
I purchased the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Cream Foundation in Creamy Natural Light 5.
RATING: 3/5 Stars I will probably not buy this product again, though it works.
What You Get: The Positive Side
Maybelline claims this product is all-day hydration with avocado, that it has SPF 18 sunscreen, that you will get luminous coverage, restore mositure, and that the formula has caffeine that awakens and firms tight skin. When I got home I actually noticed the claim about caffeine in the product, so I was a bit disappointed before trying the product. I mean caffeine on my face and eyes? Why on earth would anyone want that? Since I had already shelled my money out I did go ahead and try it. It does provide even coverage across the skin. It even helps (somehow) cover up dark circles under the eyes. My skin did look better and more aglow that what I had previously been getting with Maybelline Pan-Stick (thick!). All of these things really make me perk up about the product I have to admit. The coverage that this product gives is really amazing and it makes your skin look so fresh and not done at (bad) at all. This product makes it look like you have great skin, naturally.
What You Get: The Negative Side
On the negative side of this product I did notice that once I apply the foundation to the eye area that it was unmovable, in a bad way, because if your mascara smears, even in the slightest, you have to really scrub under the eye area (and it just should not be that hard – plus it’s your eye!). Somehow the product is almost permanent when applied under the eyes. And the worst complaint that I have about this product is that my eyes burn the entire time I am wearing it. It isn’t severe burn or anything by just enough to give me somewhat irritated, watery eyes. I don’t think there is really anything natural about a product that makes your eyes sting. Even though it claims straight off the bottle that the product is “Dermatologist tested, safe for sensitive skin.” I have never noticed having sesitive skin on my face, for the record. And once I was my face my eyes are cured, instantly.
I paid $10.00 for this product at Walgreens. It can also be found at Wal-Mart, CVS, and most cosmetic stores.
As stated this product does everything it claims, so I cannot say anything negative about it. I might try it again, but probably will choose not to, ONLY, because of the sensitive eye situation. For the price of this item, I am sure that I can find a better price and product. That makes it hard to come back to this product , next time I buy cosmetics.
Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow (in 730 Skinlights).
RATING: 5/5 stars – I will buy this product again.
First of all I was instantly impressed with this little package before I even started using the product. Why, you ask? Because I got 4 beautiful color eye shadows for a bargain of around $5.00. Remember that is for four beautiful shades too! The colors look very shimmery and beautiful. It even comes in a nice little case that clicks closed and open very easily. With this product it is claimed that all you have to do is “Layer and blend translucent shadows for amazing multi-color luminosity. Crease-resistant color glides on smoothly and stays all day.” And best of all, they claim is correct. The colors are magnificent, easy to use, and shimmery luminous. I prefer the shimmery brown shade andn have used it the most. The Skinlights colors are really and truly amazing! They look just as good on your eyes as they do in the case, on the shelf. What you see is what you get with this product. I will continue using this product, next time I may even try another color grouping just to mix-it up! Try this product it is fabulous, easy to take off, does not burn the eyes in anyway, and it is affordable (and doesn’t look cheap). I have nothing negative to report on this item.
I bought this product at Walgreens, but I am sure it can be found at most any cosmetic store, after all it is Revlon.
Squeeze N’ Shine Super Shiny Lip Gloss in BE CORALFUL. In Color by Jordanna.
5/5 Stars – Love this product and will try them all.
Best of all this product is super affordable (under $3 at Walgreens), beautiful lasting color, and is not sticky. It is even Made in the U.S.A. The lip gloss comes in a tube with a slanted tip for easy application. The company does not waste money or needless packaging either, that is probably why the price is right! I love the colors that this lip gloss comes in, they are all magnificent! I love how it is not a sticky lip gloss, and it has light glitter in a luminous shade, and it taste so good. The tube claims to be “tasty” and it really is. It is made in Los Angeles, California, and the company website is on the tube: www.jordanacosmetics.com .
I do love this product and I will be trying all of the shades by Jordana! It can be found at Walgreens.
