Method Wood is a Good Non Toxic Wood Floor Cleaner

by yup tab

We have wood flooring in our kitchen and dining room, and two years ago when we remodeled our kitchen we also had our floors refurbished. Unfortunately, they looked worse after our contractor was finished with them than before he stripped and sealed them. I’ve been looking forward to trying out Method’s hard wood floor cleaners, and our brand new Target store finally started carrying Method’s floor line!

Description

You can buy an entire Method floor care kit, but since I already own a similar mop, I chose to buy just the microfiber mop pad and their almond scented “Wood For Good”. I love the shape of the bottle, it is oval shaped and measures 4 1/2″ wide and 8″ high, holding a generous 25 ounces. The center of the bottle is indented slightly, which makes holding it securely very easy.

The bottle is clear, revealing an amber colored liquid, which is squirted out through a pull top lid that is pierced with four small holes. Pull to open (and it pulls hard), and push to close.

Usage

I used the Method Wood for Good cleaner with their O-Mop, which is a very thick microfiber cloth. The directions are simple to follow, all you do is squirt the almond scented cleaner on the wood floor and mop promptly.

My Experience

We have a small dog, and her claws have scratched up our solid oak floors quite a bit. I also care for six school aged children every day, so our floors really take a beating. I’ve used several different products on our wood floors over the years, even a very specific Swiss floor cleaner recommended at the time we had our floors installed. None of the cleaners that I have used have worked as well, nor smelled as great as Method’s Almond Wood for Good!

In the past, I have used a sponge mop to clean the floor, and was always rinsing the mop in clean water to remove dirt and residue. With the Method products I only need to squirt the cleaner onto the floor and mop the area with the microfiber mop. The directions do say to be sure and not allow the cleaner to puddle on the floor, but this has never been a problem for me. With the four tiny holes in the cap, it’s easy to squeeze out a small amount, and I never have the problem of pouring too much cleaner onto the floor. Method refers to this design as their shower nozzle spray.

Do you like the smell of almonds? If you do, you will LOVE this floor cleaner! It smells wonderful, and I being able to smell this great almond scent while I am cleaning my wood floors makes me enjoy the job of cleaning! (And believe me, it’s not my favorite past time!). What makes this an even sweeter deal is that this Method Wood for Good is natural! It contains a biodegradable solvent, baking soda, biodegradable and non-toxic surfactants, fragranced blend of oils, purified water, potassium hydrate, and less than 0.1% of a preservative.

This floor cleaner is available through the Method website, as well as other internet stores, and although it retails for $6.00, my Target store sells it for $4.99, which I feel is a very fair price for a great floor cleaner! And speaking of cleaning, I don’t want to forget to tell you how great this cleans my floors! They were quite dull and scratched, but after a good mopping with the Method Wood for Good, they now have a nice shine and glow. The almond scent lingers in the air, and I always get people asking me “what smells so good?” I am a believer in this floor cleaner, and it doesn’t build up on my floor, and is very easy to wash out of the microfiber mop when I am finished cleaning.

I can’t say enough about this floor cleaner, I am sold on it and don’t plan on using anything else on my hard wood floors!
