Located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, NC, the Mimosa Grill is the scene to step into when you want fresh, regionally-grown ingredients served up in a relaxed style that is the restaurant’s signature style. It is southern cuisine at it’s finest, with fresh and delicious menu items created and served up seasonally by Chef Tom Condron.
Once you step into this scene known by the popular crowd (just say “Mimosa’s”, and most people know what you’re talking about), you will see what I mean when I talk about the great dining experience you will enjoy because the décor alone, not to even mention the food yet, is absolutely stunning! Designed by Bill Johnson, architect, the atrium setting is quite unique. It in itself is a topic of conversation.
But now for the delicious menu . . .
Why not start the night off right by trying one of the selections from what Mimosa Grill lovingly calls “Conversation Starters”, such as Seafood-Stuffed Georgia Hushpuppies for $12 – enough there to go ’round the table, or perhaps try the delicious Butternut Squash and Toasted Hazelnut Garganelli for a reasonable $8.
Or go for a salad like the Organic Green Salad for $9 that comes with a great Sherry Thyme Vinagrette? There is also a Crisp Cornmeal Crusted Oyster Salad for $10 that has that delicious and much-talked-about warm bacon dressing (that I knew nothing about until I came to the South). Those are just a couple items to start your meal off right. But don’t forget the great soups and gumbos you can choose from too.
When you’re ready for your main course, I would definitely recommend the Iron Skillet Roasted Pecan Trout for $21 – very reasonable considering the great taste explosion here that is due to ingredients like peach chutney and lemon butter! Or go for the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp for $23, one of my favorites, that includes those favorite Grits on the side. The Springer Mountain Stuffed Chicken Breast is wonderful, too, because it has delicious smoked goat cheese as one of the ingredients . . . truly marvelous.
Or, if you prefer, stay much more simple with a plate of your favorite southern selections, like Collard Greens that are slow-cooked with bacon and pepper, for only $6. You may just find there is enough there to share. That goes for the Baked Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, too, for $10. You’ll love this place!
Relax with your friends or take your sweetheart for a night on the town, because there is both a lunch menu and a dinner one too. Hours are Mondays to Thursdays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. On the weekend, Saturday 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
