Movies to See Over the Christmas Holidays

Many families enjoy going to the show together over the holidays. Most theaters are open on Christmas Day and over New Years. After a long day of get together, individuals are ready to get out. With that in mind, here is a list of movies that you may want to see.

The Day the Earth Stood Still; Is a remake of an old scifi 1951 classic. It stars Keanu Reeves as an alien visitor with a large robot as his aid. The movie provides lots of special effects. It is scheduled for release on December 12th.

Nothing like the Holidays; Is a combination comedy and drama. It stars Debra Messing and John Leguizamo. It is also to be released on December 12th.

Defiance; Is a movie about three Jewish brothers and their escape from Nazi occupied Poland. It stars Daniel Craig. Release date is the 12th.

The Wrestler; Stars Mickey Rourke as a washed up wrestler who gets a second chance against his old nemesis. December 17th.

Seven Pounds; Will Smith is called on to change the lives of seven different individuals. He is an IRS agent that is looking to redeeming himself. December 19th.

The Tale of Despereaux; Is about a tiny mouse with the courage of a shinning knight. He is the only one that can rescue a captured princess. Opening on December 19th.

Yes Man; Stars Jim Carey as a man that says “Yes” to everyone and everything. Released December 12th.

Bedtime Stories; Stars Adam Sandler as a man who reads stories to his niece and nephew that actually become real. Seen on Christmas day

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button; Is the story of a man born in his 80’s and he ages backward. Dec 25th. is its release.

The Spirit; Is a another crime stopper hero who wears red tiesand comes to the aid of those in need. December 25th release.

Marley and Me; Is about a young couple that moves to Florida and adopt a Labrador puppy that becomes a rollicking force to deal with. December 25th.

Valkyrie; Stars Tom Cruise in a plot to kill Hitler. Lots of action and suspense. Based on a true event. December 26th release date.

Other movies released over the holidays is Gran Torino (Clint Eastwood) as an old Korean War soldier restores order in the neighborhood. Set for a December 12th release. Timecrimes; Is about a man who travels back in time and meets himself there. It is also scheduled for December 12th.

Be sure to check times and ratings before attending. Some are great for the entire family and some are not.
