Those of us who choose to work at home usually spend many months looking for a legitimate job or business opportunity. We will inevitably fall prey to scammers despite our best efforts to research the company before we sign up or get hired by them. Unfortunately, even the best sounding opportunity will not supply you with the income they promised, if you even get paid at all. That being said, you will still search for the perfect home business to enable you to earn an income from home because you think if you search hard enough you will come across one. Guess what, you will but they are hard to find.
Through all of your endless searching you have finally found an opportunity you think will generate you the income you desire. You were told you would not have to chase friends or family to join your opportunity. Everything is done 100% over the internet. Maybe they even supply you with leads or have links where you can purchase leads. You think this is perfect because you really do not want to have to contact people personally, especially your friends and family. You sign up and pay all of the fees to join, read through the training materials they give you, get your website setup, and finally send your introduction email to the leads your received thorough your company or the ones you have purchased. You check your website stats many times a day to see how much money you have made from all of these leads you emailed because after all, these people were already interested in your opportunity right?
WRONG! The leads you received or purchased are either old or have been sold to many other companies which means they have probably already been exposed to your company by someone else or they will not even read your emails because they have received so many other opportunity emails that they think you are either a scam or spamming them. So you sit down and wonder what you did wrong. You followed the company’s directions step by step and still have nothing to show for all of your efforts. Now what?
No matter what you are told by the company you signed up with, you MUST talk to people. Word of mouth is the only way to start and grow your business effectively. That means getting out and talking to people, having business cards made and hand them out to everyone you see, distribute flyers about your product or service you are offering, and yes, talking to your friends and family. They might not be in need of your services but they might know someone who is.
The key to being successful with any home business is network marketing. You must, in essence, sell yourself before people will invest in your opportunity or service. People must feel like they can trust you and that you are not pressuring them into anything. One way to do this is to contact your local Chamber of Commerce and find out when their next network marketing meeting will be. Attend this with plenty of business cards in hand. You will probably receive quite a few business cards from other people too. This is a good way to market your opportunity or service and possibly create a relationship with others so you can have your websites linked to each other. I would also suggest you attend any network marketing seminars you find. You will gain valuable information from them plus be able to market you own opportunity and connect with other opportunity seekers. Doing a press release is also a good way to get your business out to the public. These are easy to do. You can search the internet for information on how to do this. The more people you talk to about your business, the more signups you will have. Remember, it generally takes someone seeing your opportunity 7 times before they will even consider joining.
In review, you must distribute flyers and business cards, attend network marketing meetings and seminars, sell yourself as trustworthy so people do not feel like you are just trying to make a sale, and most importantly, believe in yourself and what you are selling because if you don’t, no one else will either, and you will never become successful in your home business.
