St. Paddy’s Day Green Derbies
Use a piece of green colored poster board to construct a derby from! Simply cut a 6-8 inch strip along the entire length of one of the short sides of the poster board, and loop it around your child’s head and glue or tape it in order to keep its shape. Then place the loop down on the poster board, trace around it, then draw another circle around that which is about 2-3 inches larger in diameter. Cut out this shape along the lines and you’ll have both a brim and top that you can tape onto the loop to fashion an authentic looking Irish derby that your child can actually wear. Decorate the derby along with your kids with green and gold glitter, shamrock stickers, anything you and your child’s creative heart desires!
St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Greeting Cards
Get a package of green construction paper, some markers, a glue stick, and some green and gold glitter. Fold each piece of green construction paper in half, and cut out a half of a shamrock shape. When the paper is unfolded it will be a full shamrock! Have the kids draw a proper “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” to the front of the folded card, with a personalization message written on the inside. Run the glue stick around the front and back of the card then sprinkle the glitter over the glue to give each card a really attractive look. Have the kids make out their custom St. Patrick’s Day greeting cards to friends and family.
