How many people played with Play-Doh when they were kids? I played with and used play-doh on and off since I was in kindergarten. I love Play-Doh because it is soft and colorful. In addition, kneading it and playing with it as a kid provided me with the foundation for my baking skills; moreover, I owe my years of playing and creating with Play-Doh to my bread making ability and the development and nurturing of my creative side. In short, playing and creating with Play-Doh as a child was the catalyst to my artistic tendencies as an adult. Play-Doh kept me entertained for hours as a child and I am sure kids today still love to create things with Play-Doh such as ice cream treats, hamburgers and fries, and multi colored animals. Many people may be surprised but adults can and often do use Play-Doh too. When I am creatively stumped I kneed Play-Doh until my creative juices starting flowing again; plus, when I am angry play with Play-Doh is a wonderful stress reliever. Therefore, Play-Doh is fun for kids and kids at heart.
Now, that I have introduced you to the wonderful world of Play-Doh, here are some very interesting fact about this colorful and creative toy for the whole family. Did you know that since its introduction, Play-doh has been created in 50 different colors and that there are many different products that can be used with Play-Doh so that kids and kids at heart can get endless hours of fun from it? My favorite Play-Doh accessories are the McDonalds play set, the ice cream play set, and the Play-Doh Creativity Table. There are more interesting play-Doh facts such that in 2000 during its “Colorful Campaign”, it was decided that the public most favorite colors of Play-Doh were Rose Red Purple, Paradise Garden Green, and Blue Lagoon. Moreover, Play-Doh received a very prestigious honor in 2003 when it was named to a list that recognized the 100 most memorable and most creative toys of the 20th century. The only thing that I can say to that fantastic achievement is “Way to go Play-Doh.”
There has also been a large birthday cake made primarily out of forty pounds of Play-Doh to celebrate fifty years of fun, fantasy, and creativity. In addition, I don’t think that there has been another toy that has its own fragrance. This fragrance’s target market was creative people who wanted a playful scent that reminded them of childhood. Plus, FYI, National Play-Doh Day is September 18th.
Play-Doh has been and will continue to be a toy that parents will not have to worry about when their children play with it. This is because it opens up a world of imagination for kids from 2 to 200. Play is a toy that both parents and children can agree upon. Three cheers for Play-Doh. Sources: www.wikipedia.com/play_doh
