The sixth and final boss fight is against the game’s antagonist, Daedalus. After being pestered throughout the game, you finally get to face off against the leader of the invading Chimera army. Here are some tips to help you conquer Daedalus and his minions in Resistance 2.
Location: Chicxulub, Mexico
Reward: Bronze Trophy for Resistance 2- R.I.P. John Shepherd
Recommended Weapon: Bullseye Mark II and Auger
The Bullseye Mark II is a stronger weapon compared to the Mark I. Its secondary fire allows you to tag an enemy and fire homing bullets into them. In addition, the Auger is an excellent weapon when fighting against the Elite Chimeras due to its wall piercing bullets. Not to mention you can set up a shield with its secondary fire option.
Before fighting Daedalus, you must go through a gauntlet of sorts to reach him. So make sure you are comfortable with your loadout before jumping into the last area in Resistance 2 to face Daedalus and company.
Two Elite Chimeras are waiting for you near the entrance. Take care of them and head inside the small hut-like structure. You will then be trapped inside by two unbreakable barriers.
After that, Daedalus will try to do a sneak attack. He will first rip off a piece of the rooftop. It takes a little while for him to do so, giving you more than enough time to run to the opposite end of the hut to avoid his upcoming attacks.
When Daedalus is done taking a piece of roof off, he takes a swipe you. As long as you aren’t close to him, you should avoid it easily. He will then make a harmless screeching noise that will only stun you for a little bit. These are pretty much his attack patterns. As long as you are careful with your positions, the only way you can die in this situation is when you accidentally fall off one of the openings Daedalus made.
Tag Daedalus with the secondary fire of the Bullseye Mark II whenever you can get a clear shot and then fire away with your homing bullets. Eventually, Daedalus will retreat deeper into his chamber.
When you chase after him, four Elite Chimeras will emerge and try to flank you. Take care of them quickly and rush to the next hut. This is because Daedalus will begin using his powers to throw pieces of broken-downed structures at you if you stay outside for too long.
Once you are inside the hut, the same sequence from Phase 1 will repeat again. So follow the same strategy.
Phase 3 is pretty much the same as Phase 2. Rinse and repeat the same tactics.
After escaping from the third and final hut, six Elite Chimeras are all is left that will stand between you and Daedalus. Take care of them swiftly before Daedalus begins throwing objects at you again.
Go inside the final battleground for the last showdown against the leader of the Chimera. You will immediately notice that you are standing inside some sort of electric generator. A bunch of light orbs surrounds the electrical plasma in the middle of the structure. These are the keys to defeating Daedalus.
Locate the light orb that is connected to the electrical plasma (you should see electricity flowing between the two objects). Fire at that orb until the electrical line breaks and goes haywire. If Daedalus is nearby, he will be shocked. Do it several more times to defeat him.
For being the last boss in the game, Daedalus is pretty weak. All he does is chase after you and, when he gets close enough, tries to swipe you. He is pretty swift though; so keep an eye on him constantly and fire at the light orbs whenever you see a brief opening.
As long as you are patient and careful, Daedalus won’t put up much of a fight. He will crash to the ground with enough electrical shocks.
Congratulations on beating the last boss in Resistance 2. Now go enjoy the explosive and unconventional ending.
