Jackie Warner, the reknowned reality star of Bravo’s “Work Out” and respected celebrity trainer, charges $400 an hour for her muscle sculpting services; but you can train with her for only $12.99! How’s that? With her new fitness DVD, “Work Out: One-on-One Training With Jackie”.
I’ve been a fan of Jackie’s since her juicy reality TV debut, and I couldn’t wait to buy her workout tape. Most fitness DVD’s promise the world: a flatter tummy, firm butt, and sculpted legs, but deliver nothing more than disappointment. But the Work Out star’s tape exceeded my expectations. There are three intense, 20-minute workouts (upper body, lower body, and core/abs) that include short warm-ups, cool downs, and bursts of cardio between moves. Here’s how they all break down:
The upper body section of the “Work Out: One-on-One Training With Jackie” fitness tape literally leaves your arms limp. This is one of the most effective upper body sculpting routines I’ve ever completed. Jackie and four of her Sky Sport of Los Angeles trainers show you a variety of moves to whip your guns into shape. This segment makes over your entire upper body from biceps and triceps to shoulders and laterals. This is the only section that requires equipment (three-pound or more hand weights), which has its drawbacks, but you can cheaply purchase a set of dumbbells for about $15.
Diets in Review gives a few examples of upper body exercises in the DVD, each of one-minute intervals:
*bent over rows- back
*rear delt flies- delts
*modified push-ups- chest
*hammer curls- biceps
The lower body portion of the fitness DVD works all the muscles in the legs, inner and outer thighs, and butt to the point where I was sore the next day. I found the floor moves with Rebecca (one of Jackie’s elite Sky Sport trainers) to be especially effective. This section warms up the legs with variations of squats and lunges then follows with one-minute intervals of lower body work and intermittent bursts of cardio. Some of the exercises for the lower body include:
*three-quarter kicks (you will feel the burn)
Lastly is the core and abs section of Jackie Warner’s “Work Out: One-on-One Training With Jackie”. The best part about this segment is all of the trainer’s do modifications to the exercises for complete personalization. Rebecca does the original move, Renessa does an easier modification, Agostina does a slightly more intense move, and Jesse does the move with added weights. Again, here are some of the core and ab exercises:
*the clam (great for lower abs)
*figure eight’s (you may need to start with the modified version)
*the plank position
“Work Out: One-on-One Training With Jackie” is a great, inexpensive workout DVD that will give you the results you want. It’s customizable, depending on your fitness level, features four trainers (plus Jackie) for a one-on-one feel, and offers unique exercises for a new way to burn those calories and sculpt those muscles. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, from beginner to advanced, because all the moves can be modified while still maintaining their effectiveness!
